Prospect Info: OT - The Beer Thread, Parte Deux

I didn't get there....probably the most disappointing part of the trip. I would go back, we had a good time...plus that entire arena smells like BBQ and giant Yuenglings. It's glorious.
The arena made me feel like I was at an OHL game, no ties in the gold seats and very close to the ice.
They looked at me funny when I replied to put the cole slaw on the side, I didn't know!

Here's my thought on Sam Adams. I don't think it's bad, and when it's the only lager brew you drink, it's pretty good, I especially enjoy the Summer lager.

That said, if you explore craft brews, you'll find their are some better alternatives out there. I happen to love Brooklyn Lager, their Summer is great as well. Just one to name.

I do love Yuengling Lager, but I don't get it up this way. And I haven't have Newcastle in a while, but I like it. Good chugging beers.

Yuengling fans should could down to DC, have it all over down here. Dominion is also a good local brew, although much better on tap/growler.

Have a couple of Guinness left over from St. Paddys, some Sierra Nevada, and Some Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier that has been taking up space in my fridge since September. My pops picked it up when he was in town visiting, declined to take the rest of them home. Nasty stuff, tastes like something you'd find at IHOP.

Not in the fridge, but hard to beat Lagavulin with a little bit of rocks. Tastes like liquid smoke. Been few and far between lately, but once the little one is sleeping through the night, that may change.

Aw **** I thought this was the OT thread. Thought there was a new one and this was just the title of it. Forget I was ever here. *Disappears in a puff of smoke*

mmmmm I do love Yuengling. Very tasty. Unfortunately its so rare, but maybe that makes it even better when you get one.

There's plenty of Yuengling down here in North Carolina, so I am going to be awfully upset if I can't find any back home.

I think Sam Adams is overrated.

There. I said it.

Everything sams does wachusett does it one better.

Except for boston lager. That's one of a kind

I do love most all the beers wachusett puts on. It's a great tour very technical which makes sense because they are a bunch of engineers. They began canning some beer and the result is delicious portable beer cans that can pass as soda.

Hieniken when I'm feeling rich
Molson Canadian and Bud will due if there on sale.

I changed my avy to 2 things not currently on my **** list the Red Sox and Beer.
The beer is one from a brewery in Stowe (Trapp family). I think it's an IPA but don't remember anymore. It was pretty tasty though.

Anyone else here Homebrew? I have been for about 3+ years.

What I am currently drinking:

Irish Red
New Glarus' Spotted Cow clone
Saphir Pilsener
Belgian Blonde

Thats what is in the kegerator.

As for commercial brews, I just got back from PA so I have various Yeungling products. The Lord Chesterfield is pretty good, a bit more flavor than the usual lager. I try and pickup a different 6-pack every few weeks, always trying something new. This time around I tried the Founder's Centennial IPA, which I thought was pretty tasty.

I do have a day binge drinking beer.... Bud light lime. Haters gonna hate.

I drink Bud Light. No shame in it...I'm not going to sit there and pound the heavier stuff when it's going to be a long day/night. One or two good ones up front for the taste, then onto the watery stuff.

That's just what you Bud Light drinkers have convinced yourselves of in order to feel better.
;)

 just in case...the last thing I want is a bunch of angry macrobeerers after me.

Just started ... 3 batches in so far. First turned out ok, 2 and 3 are still bottle conditioning but I've got a Hefe that should be ready this week. Tried one of my Maple Vanilla Porters after 3 weeks and tasted like it still needed some time.

So far just extract batches ... stepped up to a partial mash/grain tea with the Porter, would like to get up to All grain once I'm comfortable that I can make a good extract brew.

No Yuengling in Mass or CT :cry::cry:

Just over the CT/NY border they have it. I used to work an office by there and would occassionaly make a lunch break trip over the border:laugh:

Sam Adams makes me poop. A lot. Yes, you needed to know that. But I'm not a huge fan of them because of that only - sometimes I like their Summer brew but I feel like they changed ingredients in the past few years or something.

<3 Yuengling. Tried to take a tour once in PA, but they closed pretty early.

Do you remember Fruity Pebbles cereal when you were a kid? Well, Leinenkugal makes a beer that tastes like Fruity Pebbles.

When I lived in Belgium I tried all the big ones. Westvleteren, Westmalle, a bunch of the Abbey beers... it was glorious. Actually went to a bar in Brussels called Delirium which is in the Guinness Book of World Records for most commercially available beers in the world. I believe they had over 2,000 when I was there.

Now I stick to the standard fare; Bud, some Sam, Harpoon. It's not the same, but alas...

I love beer. Scratch that. I love good beer. great beer.
A few friends of mine and myself often( once a year) drive down to Pennsylvania, Jersey +etc and spend a long weekend driving to breweries and great pubs out there(tap takeovers from breweries/distributors) that carry beer that we just can't get up here. Don't get me wrong, we have good/great beer available in NE but the selection is blown away when you start moving around.

Quick Fav list - (some u can find here, some you have to travel)

Troegs - Nugget Nectar (one of my all time favorites)
Lagunitas - little Sumpin Sumpin (yankee spirits has it, its IPA is good too)
Weyerbacher - Quad or Insanity
Southern tier - Gemini (tough to find fresh, is not bottle conditioned)
Bell's - Hopslam
Dogfish head - 120minute IPA and the only pumpkin beer I can drink - Dogifish head Punk
Founders - Oatmeal stout or Breakfast stout (best bet round here)

And for my pride and joy, its pricey and comes in a 4pack or draft (is all i have found so far) is

If this is on tap I could drink it until i'm sick. Unload and drink it again.

(thank you sunset in allston for having this on tap not to long ago)

EDIT!!!
obviously now that my mind is wandering I decided to check Lord Hobo's website and they have this on Tap. Anyone want to try this for the 1st time? do it
