Back in the day, I never liked IPAs nor Stouts. As I got more and more into craft brew, I kept sampling everything because I wanted to appreciate all of the styles.

Nowadays my favorite styles are overly-hopped IPAs and extra dark stouts.

Nothing too exciting. Usually just Molson Dry and Dos Equis.

One of my favorite non-IPA beers.

The mother of all pilsener beers. There should by a religion devoted to the man who invented the pilsener beer. Make him a saint already

I've got an Ommegang 3 Philosophers waiting for me in my fridge. Also have some homebrew kicking around too. A nice dunkelwiezen, and a pumpkin spice porter.

Stoli Strawberry/razz

Absolut Citron/grape are cheaper alternative if you're out. I can't do well vodka with club soda though. It's not like rum and coke where the cola masks the taste.

If you like Stoli Razz but don't want to pay the price, Boru CranRazz or Svedka Raspberry are very inexpensive but decent.

Most of the IPA's are a little too hoppy for me, I like something smoother. Although I will drink Sierra Nevada's IPA on occasion.

Don't know if you'd ever get it down there, but if you see Tree Brewing's Hop Head IPA (Kelowna, BC), it's fantastic. Really nicely balanced, probably my favorite IPA. Oddly enough I find it less bitter than their APA.

Innis and Gunn.Found it on tap in Vegas.Is also great in bottles.

So good. The blonde is one of my favourite beers of all time.

There's nothing like a good German or Austrian beer....Dortmunder (DAB), Becks, Radeberger, Erdinger, Gosser, Stiegl........cheers!

Wow, I'm actually surprised you can get all those beers in Canada. Have you tried Jever, that's another dry beer which you should like?

Really annoying that the Swiss cannot make decent beers like the Germans. I really don't get it why, since we are so close and similar

Favourite German brewery - Ayinger. I would move there strictly for the Celebrator and Weizenbock

Amen...Oktoberfest is good, but I really dont like Sam beers at all.

I had a Sam Adams beer once......I still remember the bitter taste.

We actually have a pretty good selection of beers from around the world at our liquor stores.
I don't remember seeing Jever....is that a German beer?

My brother in law is pretty good at making Black N Tans, but he just uses a spoon.

The two best mixes I have had are a Black N Blue (Guinness and Sea Dog Blueberry Ale), and I also had a mix of Guinness and a Pumpkin Ale at the Sports Grille a couple of years back. I think they called is a Pumpkinhead or something like that?

Pretty sure that's just a spoon with a bend in it hooked over the lip of the glass.

Fun fact, in Kilkenny they typically don't carry Kilkenny beer in pubs, instead people will order a Swithwick's with a Guinness head.

I think you are right? I thought it was some fancy contraption

I had the pleasure of visiting Ireland a few years back, and Smitty's was my staple (I can only tolerate one or two Guinesses max).

Also, I'm not sure what it was, but the Irish Coffees are 1000 times better in Ireland than they are here.

You can actually buy em (there are dull to fancy ones lol). Just helps to have one that sits on a glass evenly.

Not sure what part of Canada you are in, but I can say Ontario is NOT a great place for a lover of beer due to a limited selection.
I am trying a couple beers right now from Unibroue as I have migrated from German to Belgian beers; La Fin Du Monde and Maudite. Not sure if they are worth the price.
I like traveling to the USA where selection can be awesome. The beer stores in PA make me drool, but alas I can only bring one case back with me duty free.
I'm reading up on what it takes to brew your own.

If you're close to Regina, Willow Park Wine store has a decent selection of craft brews. Certainly not what you can get in AB, but they rotate it pretty often. Is a little pricey, but at least it's something different.

I understand Earl's in Saskatoon has an Artisanal Market too where they kind of took over for Cava in the craft brew/wine speciality market after they got their license pulled. Haven't been there yet though.
