I'm confused at this. You're right in regards to how the Dodgers are ran. However, isn't this exactly how Mo tries to run our club as well? We have drafted and developed pretty well under Mo's tenure. All the vitriol I hear from Cards fans around the city year after year seems to be that he refuses to spend big dollars, the exact thing that you mention as a fault of the Dodgers pre-Friedman.
This is false. the Cardinals have to be at the bottom of the league when it comes to talent evaluation and the good players we draft do exponentially better once they get away from this organization.

I think we have done a bad job at evaluating talent in trades recently. I didn't see Alcantara doing so well after we traded him because of his meh minor league numbers but he has really taken it to the next level. Gallen performed well for us in the minors and we then traded him in the Ozuna deal. Randy did well in the minors for us when we traded him for Liberatore. Other than that those 3 big names I can't name anyone else that the Cardinals would regret trading away. My biggest issue is the major league team and their issues at keeping players consistent. Seems like there is a breakout candidate every year that then shits the bed the following year. O'Neil, Dejong, Flaherty, Carlson, Donovan right now, etc..... All of these guys have had good to great years but we fail to get consistent productions out of them either through injuries or the league adapting to them. Plus we haven't really focused on pitching recently so that has been another big weakness for us.

Be glad im not the GM. I’d trade Goldy, Arenado, O’Neil, Flaherty and Monty and go in a full rebuild.

I already know that if we DFA Hicks, the dodgers/rays would pick him up and he would become a stud closer for them. Can we just steal some of their guys?

1st and 2nd, two outs, full count so the runners get a head start, Noot plugs the gap with what should easily score both runners and tie the game but the ball hops over the wall and only one run scores, Cards fail to bring in the other run and still trail. Such a brutal break.

Oh but they can. Analytics said to pull our starter after 89 pitches and to put in Jordan Hicks with a 3-2 lead. Great managing!!!

Can you still QO players and receive a comp pick? If so, Flaherty and Monty should receive a decent comp pick.

Right now I am on the copium that the season will be so bad for us they will have a huge front office change and rethink their whole philosophy. The most likely option is the season continues and they fire Marmol but keep Mo and do the same thing over and over again

The people in charge of this organization have lost their f***ing minds.

There’s a clip from Black Lagoon (obviously not postable on this forum due to the content of the video) where the Russian Mafiya queen Balalaika says, “Somebody shoot me,” with this utterly dead look in her eyes. That’s me with the Cardinals at the moment.

Lose every game, fire everybody and give me a top 5 pick too. Start fresh in 2024

My only hope is that the Cards change how they approach the game and the way they do things. Just hire someone from the Rays or Dodgers and bring some of their development people over.
