Yep, he's a reliever forced to start because We don't have enough MLB level starters due to injuries
 
memba when we dumper dived and penny pinched so much that our genius bowtie GM thought Jordan Hicks was starter material even though he walks ppl and cant go through a lineup multiple times?

Think it might be time to consider the possibility this team isn’t all that good outside of when they’re playing the dregs of the league.

And Mikolas bouncing back like he has was almost pure dumb luck. Flaherty basically being finished sucks, but they should've had insurance for him lined up because they knew this was a realistic scenario entering the season. And they better be working on a more long-term solution, Flaherty can't be relied on to be the front-end starter that we previously were.

Yeah counting on Flaherty is truly mind boggling to me.
 
Cards need a 3rd and 4th starter bad. Flaherty can't be trusted, Matz has a torn MCL, Hudson while ok as a 5th starter can't stay healthy to save his life. That should be their absolute #1 priority.
 
Soto would be great if we are open to giving a big contract, but there's also quite a few pitchers with control on the market that I'd want to get. That's why I'm pretty confident some sort of worthwhile upgrade is coming.

We would even struggle to win playoff rounds against the reds, dbacks and marlins. Teams pitching is atrocious and outside our top 2 players the lineup sucks too
 
Cards are rumored to be out of the Soto running focusing solely on SP after Matz went down combined with Hudson and Flaherty being broken again.
