The thing is London is the only team capable of pulling those deals off because you’re not gonna do it if the player isn’t gonna commit
The point is that the Hunters were willing to part with all those draft picks instead of just sitting on them and hoping they magically turn into a bunch of frontline players.

London has a history of doing this - - look at what they gave up for John Tavares.

Wow! What a win for Oshawa as they sweep the Michigan road trip.

This was no fluke - - Generals thoroughly outplayed Saginaw and fully deserved the two points.

Good to see Beckett Sennecke get back on the score sheet, but even more impressive to me is his physical play.

He drilled Josh Bloom with an high hit and although he took a 2min elbowing call, it sent a strong message. Later on he flattened Zayne Parekh in the corner.

There’s no question Sennecke is a tremendous skater and great stick handler. Having that physical forechecking element to his game is going to be huge for his draft stock and future value.

You certainly provide good 'UPDATES" for Gens fans!
if your the mod you can do something about it no? we all said square corners was updates, updates stopped posting or was banned or whatever and now squares corners stopped posting too. smoke = fire often.

Sounds like Oshawa will be acquiring another Goalie to support Oster and will be sending Bender back to JrC

Yeah and the point of my original post is the Gens should trade their 2024 picks while they still can if they’re going for it next year

There's maybe only one Impact player left I can see Oshawa trading for. Otherwise, they will stay calm this draft

I really hope they don’t give up anything of value for another goalie. Especially if they plan on keeping Oster as an OA next year.

Gravelle should be ready to at least be a back up next year. Paired with Oster as an OA, that’s a solid tandem.

Let’s be honest - - Oshawa isn’t challenging for anything this year. So it makes no sense to give up assets for a short term back up goalie.

But if they plan on dealing Oster to a contender before Wednesday, then all bets are off.

Completely agree.. third goalies like Krawchuk (05) or Sztuska (04) should be had cheap.

I don’t think the Petes are in a position to trade Liam Sztuska. Zach Bowen is out with an injury and I am not sure of the timeline for his return. Their third string goaltender, Easton Rye is a 17 year old rookie who has had one OHL start. Also they likely only have two cards left and I think Rye is on an affiliate card. If he was to become the backup they would have use a card on him. They likely will use their remaining cards to add two players.

I can’t believe how embarrassingly misguided the TSN draft rankings are. This explains why that clueless jackass Craig Buttons has never had a sniff at another GM job since his three years of failure in Calgary.

There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO (0) possible chance that Luca Marrelli will be drafted before Beckett Sennecke. Marrelli won’t be drafted ahead of Ben Danford either.

I don’t see him ever playing at the NHL level. He’s not great defensively or offensively, has little to no physical game and has a bad habit of making brutal giveaways.

Not to be a dick or anything - but which NHL teams have you been GM of, or which national sports channel were you on the panel as an expert? Just curious

You should feel vindicated central scouting agreed with you and had Marrelli at 35th NA Skater -- behind Danford and Sennecke.... now you can go and get hired as that head scout or gm.

There’s lots of hopelessly incompetent people who should not be employed at their present job - - not just in the NHL but also throughout every single place of employment.

Nepotism is a terrible thing and the ONLY reason Craig Buttons got into NHL management is because of who his daddy was.

Maybe Buttons doesn’t actually watch the games and just bases his “rankings” by looking at their hairstyles and how mellifluous their name is.

Because even if you’ve only watched a handful of Generals games and have ZERO formal scouting evaluation training, it’s obvious that Sennecke is an infinitely better player than Marrelli.

It should be even easier to grade Danford against Marrelli because they play the same position.

It’s comical how inept Buttons is.

I cannot understand why Laxdal continues to insist on force feeding Owen Griffin ice time on the top two lines.

It’s like Sennecke and Kumpalainen are killing a penalty when Griffin is on their line.

Put him on the 4th line and make him earn his minutes in a top six role.

Why is that so difficult to comprehend and execute?

What a huge road win for Oshawa. Once again Jake Oster was spectacular. Amazingly though, he wasn’t one of the three stars.

Punnett and Sandhu played reasonably well, although the former took a brutal puck-over-the-glass penalty with only a few minutes remaining in the game.

Generals really need another win tomorrow against a Peterborough team that clearly gave up on the season at the deadline.
