What's the verdict on Berggren? He wasn't given much of a chance in preseason. Do we think we'll see him in the NHL at all this season?

He was hurt to start preseason and that set back his chances. Best thing for him is to get to game speed in the AHL and force their hand by playing great.

I don't remember saying I would do that. But keep up the fantasy land homer trade logic, it works every time.
You are the one that said it would take Raymond to Eichel while taking back the Skinner contract and I'm the one in fantasy land. No buddy you're right there's a cavalcade of teams lined up to add 19m in cap space for as dude with a bum neck and a guy that put up 14 points in 53 games last year. Must be why Eichel trade talks are going so well.

No I said for eichel to be on our roster it would take a trade including Raymond. I don’t think skinner will be involved in an eichel trade for the very reason that you don’t kill the value of that type of asset. We’ll see who is right.

I’m cheering for a Calder this year. Calder Cup. Start em all on the farm. I’ll get an AHL subscription. Follow 1 shitty team and 1 good one.

Raz and Smith on IR and Vrana LTIR? Pretty bold predicting both Raymond and Joey to make the roster, what happens when the injured players return? I think only one of the two make the roster.

Agreed. I think that makes things a bit more complicated. Especially because Ras/Veleno wouldn’t slot in where Raymond plays. Especially if he’s on the first or second line. The only way I think Ras/Veleno bump Raymond is if they moved one of Ryan or Erne up depending on who is back out of Ras and Veleno respectively. Not saying I agree with that move, but I’m not sure who else gets moved up there.

Why would Erne be 4th line when he outproduced Namestnikov by a lot? Namestnikov can go on waivers as he is pretty useless. He brings almost no discernible difference to the lineup than any other scrub out there.

Weird that you guys are slottong Ryan on the lines and guy is not even signed.

I would much rather pick Alex Barre-Boulet from waivers or something.

Go with better players. Like with own kids.

Am I alone in thinking that Raymond and Zadina should swap lines?

I could see it both ways.

I think if Raymond had a few years under his belt at the NHL level I would agree with you, and I think that line in theory should work very well. At the same time I think Zadina has looked better when not playing with Larkin. So also from a Zadina stand-point I would put him on the 2nd line. On the PP I think Raymond should be with Larkin, and Zadina with Hronek so also from the PP perspective I think putting Raymond with Larkin would give them more time to build chemistry. So in theory I agree with you.

However, I think it would be a hell of an ask to a 19 year old rookie to start on the 1st line. Larkin will take most of the defensive zone starts, the harder match ups. Whereas Suter will most likely get more ozone starts and won't get as much attention from the opposition (and won't play as much of a shut-down role). Thus it will be a much easier life for Raymond to start his NHL career on the 2nd line.

Personally I actually did like what the Fabbri - Suter - Raymond line did at 5v5 when they played together.

Most likely line-combinations will change through out the season, so we might get to see both.

All of this also assumes that Raymond even makes the NHL roster :)

The best players will be on tht top line and it will be also good chemistry mix.

Fabbri - Larkin - Bertuzzi
Zadina - Suter - Raymond

Fine with that. Fabbri has been great with Suter.

It's nice to finally have only good options. Zadina never belonged to top line, that was obvious.
