I'm so mad at Dallas
Why?

It’s looking like Edmonton’s year, I’ve been saying it all season.

I think the Panthers might be able to beat them, but I think the Oilers will beat the Rangers.

I’m still having flashbacks to the Panthers not closing out the Bruins in game 5 at home last series, so they better get it done tomorrow night.

I just hate the Oilers. Much rather Dallas win than anyone else left too.

Right until one of them finds their way to the Broadway lights anyway
Yeah, I could see a 97 to Broadway to replace Panarin.

Strangely, I think he'd be in the same situation again, but Igor would be the big difference.

Draisaitl would suck but I'd be less worried about him.

It would be kind of funny if Pete again can't get further in year 2 than in year 1 with a team.

Speaking of...

Good for him. I’m not sure why these reporters feel the need to go up there and ask the coach about weird things like “Character” and other overused hockey/sports terms. I can’t blame a coach for getting snippy with them after being asked something like that.

Why are they calling the team’s character into question anyway? Because they’re potentially going to lose in the conference final for the second year in a row? Their lack of character is why they lost to Vegas and are down to Edmonton 3-2? It’s just very strange.

Lmao, how are they going to afford the either of them? Panarin could walk in a few years but that money is going to go straight to Lafreniere (with him actually looking good now) + the brinks truck for Shesterkin

Yeah, I like the Dallas team and loathe the other ones. But they look like they're fading a bit.

I also just want to see both Drai and McDavid walk without winning anything in Edmonton. Because it's funny to me.

I think the East is winning the Cup anyway

Get a weird feeling Dallas is going to put up a gutsy game 6 performance only to lose at home in game 7. Really thought at the end of round 2 Dallas was looking great taking down 2 contenders while Edmonton barely scraped by a depleted Vancouver.
I got a feeling it will be Edmonton/Florida when all is said and done.

And end Deboers game 7 record!?

NO. Either losing in 6 or winning in 7 lol

I guess I read and posted about that when I was half asleep.

Didn’t realize that the question wasn’t directly about if there’s a character issue or whatever. And that if was just implied there’s a character issue.

Home ice advantage, in these playoffs does it even exist?

I don’t have stats, haven’t counted, have only my subjective impression. But I wouldn’t be surprised if, taking all teams, all games since round one, road teams haven’t won as many if not more games than home teams. I do not remember a playoff season when playing at home seemed actually to be more of a disadvantage.

In my own opinion, Home Ice doesn't really matter because of the random factor of where the puck ends up when it's shot on net.

Basically the LUCK factor.

Your goaltender could be the friggin' Hasek and the puck may still find a way in the back of the net due to a ricochet off the crossbar or off one of the players.

Dallas is a weird team, it’s an older team relying on young players. Stankhoven only played 24 NHL games prior to the playoffs. Wyatt Johnson has been their best player. Hintz getting injured hurt the team.
You didn’t mention Heiskanen, Harley and Robertson. They’re teaming with young stars.

Pavelski is basically having his first bad long playoff run at 39. That’s only where age is catching up with them.

Losing Hintz is a big blow obviously.

Dallas was 9th in GA/GP this season, and Edmonton was 10th, it’s not like either team has an advantage there. (And both their goalies are boxes of chocolate, you really never know what you’ll get.)

Top two teams GA/GP were Winnipeg and Florida (they were tied), by quite a bit.

Florida and Edmonton is the right match-up to me and I’m curious what Edmonton can do against the Panthers.

The Panthers need to come out there and end this tonight at home, because they laid an absolute egg in game 5 against Boston when they were up 3-1 and could have close that series out.

I think I would eat a cooked penn station rat if it meant a win for the cats.
perfect ending is oilers beating the cats in the final
we all know the worst

This is perfect

Honestly, I don’t even hate most of the Rangers that much. Pretty much fine with Panarin, Zib, Miller. A little less love for a few others, but the thought of Trouba winning a cup absolutely makes my stomach turn. Hoping Florida can pull it out.

Most Rangers fans knows he's bad and are desperate to trade him immediately when his full NMC ends.
