Jets are looking very good. Their top 2 lines are under rated IMO
Ehlers Scheifele Connor
Wheeler Dubois Perfetti

Both lines are giving the Rags a han—full.
Perfetti looks very dangerous. I feel bad for Jets fans that Scheifele dogs it and rumoured to want out of Winnipeg along with Dubois who came out and said he is not resigning with them when his contract is up, plus Wheeler is supposedly an epic D bag and room cancer.

Same thing in the Jets / Rangers game . Hellebuyck is playing unreal and gave his team a chance by weathering the storm .Jets scoring timely goals.
Must be nice is right.

Then Jets score a huge PP goal to seal the victory….. Again…. Must be nice
Dont worry my friend, based on HF extended statistics we are expected to experience a win by Thanks Giving.

Yikes the Sharks are 0-3-0!
Maybe one of the more predictable records in the NHL. Their 4-0-0 start last year was completely fluky.

They play the Blackhawks tonight, so they probably still won't be winless by the time they make it to Newark next Saturday.

They only even scored a goal because Raanta gave them the softy of the night.

They were being outshot something like 22-8 at one point or that may have even been the total shots after 2.

Huge softie let in by Raanta.....
Water is wet
I'm hoping this is finally the year where his personal stats catch up to the eye test, as I feel like he probably overachieved last year.

His game 6 performance at MSG in the second round of the playoffs was really on par with some of the Domingue performances from round one.

The guy also looks old as shit for 33 years old. With Joe Thornton now probably being retired or at least not being an active player, I think Raanta might be the oldest looking player in the NHL. Craig Anderson is definitely younger looking/much less beat up looking in the face and so are Giordano, Pavelski and Parise, All of them are 5-8 years older than him. Andy Greene didn't even look that old.

Parise has hardly aged since he left here in 2012..... Well I'm talking his face. His on ice play certainly has.

naturally Carter Hart has allowed 2 goals on 4 shots already today through 1 period lol
Both stoppable.

Literally 100% of his goals so far this year.

He sucks.

Though I do maintain, it wasn't a good idea to force him into the league as young as they did. Not a good move and I'm pretty sure that was the first ''Move'' Chuck Fletcher made as he came through the door. Calling him up.

Let the (irrational) hype for the Flyers begin.

If anything, I'm starting to wonder if maybe Vancouver really is closer to a lottery team than the Jacques Lemaire-like run we saw last year under Boudreau? They have started on the road, but they've blown multi-goal leads both games, they've been getting outshot both games they've played. I've watched both of their games and it could be time to really panic for them.

I don't think they're Sharks bad, but they could be like worse than Kraken bad. It's still too early to say and they open the season with 5 straight on the road.

I was gonna make a post earlier this week with couple predictions about other teams but couldnt find the Around the League thread at the time.

One of the things was that I dont buy Flyers being as bad as fans expect them to be. Theyre not Arizona or Chicago bad. Yeah their roster sucks (especially with the injuries) and they're probably still the worst team in Metro by the end of the season, but one thing that can get you points in this league is outworking your opponent. No surprise Torts team does that. Like if you compare them to Yotes or Hawks, no offence to those franchises but who cares what happens this season? Arizona is stocking up picks like its a video game and Chicago would love to stay out of the spotlight for a couple months. Flyers atleast aim to have some sort of culture change.

I'm not gonna be the "told you" kinda person cause thats my cup of tea, but last year I brought up Torts couple times in GDTs cause watching Devils not give a crap some nights and seeing the defensive coverage or well.. the lack of was driving me crazy.

I get it people dont like him and he's very old school and zegras comments and he'd have Jack blocking shots and blablabla. But I think he's the perfect coach for the Flyers cause they lack any sort of system and culture the last few years. And Devils pre Ruff and now with Ruff arent far off. I get it - our roster is not exactly build for Torts system but I'd just love to have our team be the one to outwork a more skilled team and win or lose as a result, doesnt really matter.

I'll admit that I'm old school and I love physical play in hockey. I love it much more than the skill that the game is centered around today. I get that lots of physicality has been toned down nowadays with bunch of penalties being called and some of the dirtiest shit has been taken out which is the right way. But having a team that finishes every check and puts their body on the line always has me entertained. Doesnt have to be goons or even big players, just effort. Thats why I love playoff hockey cause players care more which results in more battles. I'm biased cause thats the kinda game I fell in love with though.

Storytime over.

Fair enough. They certainly aren't Chicago/Arizona bad, as those two teams are on a level of their own. Then San Jose is probably the top of the next rung of shit.

Torts might be enough to keep them mediocre and out of the bottom 5.

But if we're only going on 2 games here, just remember. The 2021-2022 New Jersey Devils started 2-0-0 after wins over the mighty Chicago Blackhawks and expansion Seattle Kraken to start the season. Pretty sure the Flyers had a decent start last year too. And I think they beat the Kraken the night before we played them. The wheels didn't start falling off there until November, just like with us.

Not to mention, their two wins so far (both at home) were over the Devils with Blackwood in net, who is almost a LOCK for allowing at least 3 goals or more. And then Canucks, who blew a multi-goal lead for the second game in a row and probably are not quite ready to recover after how badly Jim Benning f***ed that team up. They still have a shot because it's the Pacific but.....

Add Montreal to that rung of shit with San Jose. They're probably worse than the Flyers too, but maybe not Chicago/Arizona levels of bad.
