The Caps have been irrelevant to me for several years now, other than Ovechkin’s race for the record.

I sort of feel the same way about Pittsburgh and I definitely feel the same way about Nashville out West.

They’re all cup winners/cup finalists/Presidents Trophy winners of yesteryear and haven’t done shit in the playoffs since those peaks. All of them are still riding on the fumes of their dominant teams and at the end of their competitive windows. The Sharks went through the same thing and are now firmly at the bottom.
The Canucks is another team I dont get . Their core has nkt been good enough for years , yet they extended Miller and are going with the same guys … what are they expecting to happen ? For some reason that it will magically work?
Other teams are improving around them but they can’t really get better because they are capped out , have boat anchor contracts , habe ine of the worst D groups in the league and essentially shit for prospects . Maybe one or two future NHl caliber kids but no real superstars. They are gong to be stuck in purgatory for years . Shitty enough to miss the playoffs yet good enough to not get great draft picks . The worst possible place to be.

Gritty Zach Hyman, who is the type of player you need to win games and had nearly as much to do with the Oilers success last year as McDavid/Drai fans on what looked like a sure goal.

And of course Campbell almost causes a net mouth scramble at the other end cause he can’t control any shots right now.

OILERS SCORE !!! Lol Yessssssss!
Even better , it was Laf that took a stupid penalty that lead to the 4-3 goal
Rags board is melting down . ” Trade Sheshterkin , it will end up like Lundqvist 2.0 where we pay him way too much and is not good enough to win ”
Gotta love it .

If this was November of 2023 and not November of 2022, I would say this is the kind of loss that might get Gallant fired. Since it would right around that time that he usually starts to lose his jobs.

Between that and being the only team to lose to the Ducks in regulation in 21 games this season.

Seriously, every team that played the Ducks has gotten at least a point, other than them.

I was about to make a post ranting on Ceci and the narrative that the Pens are somehow able to rehab these defensemen like him and Gudbranson, who go there and play well after struggling everywhere else.

And yet here they are, still continuing to struggle everywhere else.

That might cost Marino some respect from people.

Was hoping the other Alberta team could win a very rare Metro division game today, but the Oilers were probably the most we’re gonna get out of those two teams.
