Fans of the NJD are in no position to laugh at the Rags. They were a conference finalist last year while we sat home for the 10th time in 12 years.

They still have Shesty, as well as a very sturdy and reliable backup in Halak who always plays the Devils hard. One of the absolute best coaches in the league, who Harris was too cheap to have here. Thanks again Harris/Fitz.

They have lots of tremendous depth up and down the lineup.

They'll be in the playoffs come April, BOOK IT.

Buckle up because it will be another rough ride of a Spring. Bookmark this post and @ me in April.

Better yet, @ me in June and you'll see what I've been talking about.

Jesus Christ DD, Gallant sucks.

So what is the deal with Laffy? Draft year people were saying he was a better prospect then Jack. Right now he clearly isn't.

Was he overrated or did the Rags screw him up?

nothing wrong w/ liking posts in their forum (i would NEVER post), but this is why you shouldn't have DEVILS or easily identifiable stuff in ur handle

plausible deniability

Yes there is something wrong with liking their posts in a GDT, particularly if you have a identifiable Devils handle.

You can read it if you like drinking in their fan frustration but any interaction is petty bs trolling. It’s their board.

Trolling is a garbage move, we wouldn’t want them here outside of a few instances (providing specific info in a neutral way, congrats on a win).

With today's comeback win by the Oilers, Calgary has been just big, if not an even bigger disappointment.

The only regular/starting goalie that's been nearly as ice cold and craptastic as Campbell lately is his neighbor to the south Jacob Markstrom, who isn't in net today.

And I'm sure you can imagine the rise I got out of the SportsNet Flames crew saying after the 1st intermission ''Vladar could really be a starting goalie on a lot of teams in the league. We already know that!''. No the f*** we don't.

Vladar has only played 34 games in the NHL (including today) and today is his 29th start ever in the NHL and to mediocre results.

I think the only time I went to a rival and liked their posts was maybe I might have liked a bunch of ''Now we're really starting to understand why Gallant loses his job so often and so soon'' and ''Georgiev sucks and cost us the game with that softy'' posts after I think it was game 4 of the Pens series? Maybe I didn't, but I may have liked a few of those posts at times.

But honestly, I was only liking those kinds of posts because I agreed with them and fully supported those statements. We were on the same side of those opinions. I wasn't doing it to troll them or to even bask in their misery. Just doing it because I agreed and enjoyed them calling those people out.

A little of both but he’s also shooting poorly.

He’s also on the PP2 which doesn’t get much time at all and I believe has zero points.

Not sure I would write him off he might be a late blooming power forward.

Some people can't control themselves. It's one thing to lurk and have a laugh over here like I'm doing, but liking and/or commenting on their misery in their forum will always incite further hostility.

As said above, we'd be furious if they did the same to us. And rightfully so.
I don't think giving a "reaction" to a post there is bad, though.

Do not go over there to interact with them at all. That includes liking posts.

It's still trolling
It is?

So just "liking" posts will get you in trouble?

that's pretty damn harsh.

I had a Leafs fan react with a "laugh" reaction to one of my posts (Following the loss to the Leafs) and I don't consider that trolling.

I was like "Enjoy your ref-assisted victory, buddy." Just banter between opposing fanbases.

I don't adhere to the idea of petty fiefdoms on an internet forum.

And liking posts isn't trolling, in my book. I'm literally liking their post! If you're incapable of dealing w/ somebody liking ur posts without melting down, internet maybe isn't for you.

I personally am looking for clarification as to whether "liking" posts on other team's forums leads to getting in trouble. Because if that's true, then things around here have gotten a bit too....what's the word.....ummm....sensitive? :help:

I got lectured for cross-quoting a rival's forums a few years ago. I wasn't trying to troll or be a dick, I just thought some of their comments were genuinely funny.

The explanation I got was that the quote would give a notification and that could provoke a reaction. So I tried screenshotting and other ways that wouldn't generate a notification but then I got told not to do that either (I think)

I get it, it doesn't take much to set off a flame war, and there's enough of that already. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't head over to other forums at opportune times for some Schadenfreude reading

There's a GDT on the main board where you can post and like whatever you want, but other teams's boards are generally off limits unless you are a regular there and generally supportive like sabremike is here.

But that is a QUOTE, though.

I'm referring to just "liking" a post.

I mean let's say you just "like" a post (the "thumbs up" one). How could they tell if you're mocking them or just thinking their post was good? They can't.

Unlike the Laffs fan, who was pretty damn obvious, I don't think it's concrete as to what the motive is for someone liking some other's post.

I just want to know if I, for example, went over to some other board and liked one of their posts, that I wouldn't be in hot water just for doing that. (to be quite honest, I feel it would be pretty dumb if that was a rule. Commenting is one thing, but liking a post? give me a break)

This isn’t the “internet”, it’s a moderated message board. If it wasn’t moderated it would be terrible.

Going to the Rangers board after their team just had a bad loss and interacting with posters seems like a total dick move to me.

It reflects poorly on the person trolling more than anything, why make yourself an annoying presence on a rival’s board like a smelly fart? No one has to have a “meltdown” for this to be bad manners.

That’s just my take. I’m obviously not a moderator and never reported anyone either.

I enjoy screen shots and I don’t quite get why one of those would be wrong but I guess it’s picking on a poster? Bullying?

I’ll still do that lol.

And no one says don’t read other boards, that would be weird.

To me, "interacting with posters" is replying to their posts, not providing "reactions"(Liking posts, etc.) to those posts.

Anyway....we've completely veered waaaaaaaaaaaay off the topic of this thread.

I apologize to Eddy, NJDevs and the rest.

Let's get this thread back on track with NHL Out Of Town Hockey talk.

Dude. Think about it.

If after a bad loss Ranger fan posted “we suck” they don’t want a bunch of Devils and Isles fans liking that post. It’s a Rangers fan venting among other Rangers fans.

It’s more about good manners and also about how we generally don’t interact with other boards.

Why do you need to like their post? Is it so hard to leave them alone and just read them?

Seriously. Leave. Them. Alone. Why is that so hard for people.
