Hilariously true, right before puck drop the Isles crew highlighted a guy on Flames making his NHL debut and I thought wow the Flames actually putting some kids in the lineup. It was a 27 year old career AHL‘er 😂. Flames are almost as bad as the rags with developing kids.
Flames were forced to use the callups they did . Malouche or whoever was supposed to get the call but his cap hit was too high so they were furvrd to call up other scrubs .
Sutter will always go with a vet over a rookie unless said rookie is clearly 490 times better than the vet .

No positive outcomes on the OOT scoreboard tonight. Devils just gotta keep winning as much as possible early. I assume we will have a mediocre stretch of games at some point....so let's take advantage of a Flames team in a funk on the 2nd half of a back to back.

Between Boston, Vancouver, and Philly the past couple days have been great for people in the NHL throwing other members of their organization under the bus publicly.

Calgary gotta win eventually, right? 6 losses in a row doesn't seem likely. Hoping for a win tonight - feels like a letdown game. As long as they continue to score i'll be happy.

Calgary is going to be desperate so I expect a strong game from them. As long as we get some solid goaltending we can skate them into the ground

They should lose tonight and then face a losing streak co-runners Pittsburgh on thursday.

Flames will come out flying and play desperate . We need to hold them off and eventually they will not be able to maintain their pace all game . Especially on a back to back . They were carrying the play against the Islanders for most of the game but slowed down in the 3rd . Hopefully we get the first goal or at least limit their opportunities at the start of the game . They he will desperate for a win .

What a strange answer. Huberdeau has been in the league for years now. He's not some mercurial rookie that the coach is slagging on in an effort to get him going, but that quote sure makes it seem like Sutter sees it that way.

I sorta get Sutter's answer there though, how much slander has Florida caught for being paper tigers come in the playoffs in regards to the defense. Granted, they legit got robbed by Vasy two straight years but it's still probably the mindset that he's talking about with Huberdeau. Also that move from South Florida to Western Canada is a tough one, I think he'll be alright long term. Same thing happened with Hall when he came to NJ, first year was mediocre and then won MVP in his second year here.
