Avs look amazing. Then again, they did the same last year against Vegas in Game 1 and 2. Then pfffft. Not saying it'll happen again, but.

The first game of that series was a bit of a mirage because DeBoer threw in Lehner in the net because he wanted him to get a game in and he got completely hammered 7-1.

They won 3-2 in OT in the next game but Vegas absolutely shelled Grubauer.

And Vegas kept dominating play in the next few games, they had a ton more shots. Vegas’ issue is that they can often put a lot of pucks on net that don’t go in but dominated possession in early games and scored.

The Avalanche skaters finally started to show up but then Grubauer numbers got ugly at the end.

I can’t believe how much I bought into Vegas after that series and how little that belief paid off.

From Jersey w/ Love
Sergachev had a terrible period

He had those 2 goals in that game against NYR. But I've seen a lot of bad from him that series.

Maybe he was just playing a lot, and it has to happen sometimes.

Also i was probably pretty buzzed many of those games I watched... so there's that.

He likely couldn't, but what he did this season was still the best season of goaltending I've ever seen.

You never watched prime Hasek i'll take it?

Don't get me wrong - Igor was fantastic.

I did. I really think what Shesterkin did this year is underrated because people really overrate the rest of the rags team.

One of the worst even strength teams I’ve ever seen and they won 52 games and
got to the ECF on his back

Just turned on the game, I take it Vasilevskiy has not been good thus far?

First two goals were pretty bad, had no chance on the 3rd. He made some decent saves though, Avs are just dominating.

First two goals were super softies. Third goal was a tip in at the crease on a 5 on 3 from a pretty questionable call.

Colorado was still the way better team though.

Kuemper is no Shesterkin, but he has the benefit of not having to play behind a bunch of anchors and craters that are just gonna leak chances and shots for him to have to stop, unlike Shesterkin who has all that and a coach that has a massive erection for said anchors and craters.

The depressing thing to me is the level of sociopathic behavior a team needs to win in the playoffs. Plenty of cheap shots so far and it’s only the second period of thr first game. Forget big physical players NJ needs to add a few guys without any conscience whatsoever. I’m not sure that’s really what the public wants but it’s what the league allows.

Don’t say that too loud here, some posters will never admit you need size and physicality to win

I'm not opposed to having some borderline dirty players, but they better be smart enough to get away with that type of thing. Last thing you need is a guy who takes needless penalties in the name of being a pest.
