OJ Howard has two touchdowns. Which is one more than Tommy Sweeney has in his career. But he’s not friends with Josh Allen so what can you do?
Lmao wtf are you talking about

Kansas City not missing a beat. Going through the Cardinals like butter.
I think they will struggle but not against NFC teams.

Imagine thinking you know more about our depth TEs than our front office AND you base it on a make-believe thought/conspiracy.

Imagine believing any front office is infallible.

Tommy Sweeney is a total nothing player.

ach tendon injury takes a while to get over from if ever.

he might the right play calls/ offense around zone reads and hitting seams or jump balls in the end zone. He wasn’t good in blocking.

in buffalo 2 TE sets are usually around blocking schemes.

you could debate on being #3 TE on the depth or being more of an inside receiver in zone coverages.

Daboll going for 2 pt conversion in Tennessee to go up with 1 min remaining for the win. Unlike the BUF MNF game, NYG make it. TEN driving 0:33 remaining. Titans wide left on a ~42 yarder as time expires. Daboll with his first NFL win.

Wild NFL week 1 on the Sunday games. 2 OT games, 1 ends in tie. Missed kicks in OT and at ends of games.
CLE with a walk-off FG win vs. CAR.

DAL-TB and SEA-DEN remaining.

My (overreacting) takeaway from today so far: no teams scare me. Maybe KC but I also have little to no respect for Arizona.

Mahomes looks terrifying but has also played especially well every September of his career.

I’m so glad our FO regularly invests in WR talent. Crazy how long the packers had davante and a pile of meh at the rest of their WR spots. Now it’s just the pile of meh.

Also I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I feel bad for Mac Jones. The downgrade from McDaniels as OC to the bumbling idiot duo of Patricia/Judge is ridiculous

Happy for Daboll.
Same. He had his flaws here but he certainly had some good impacts. It also helps that he is coaching an NFC team. So I can be happy for him without it having true impact on us.

Add in that he is in he NFC East and honestly NJG are the only team in that division that I don’t loathe. So them doing decent/good isn’t good for the other teams in the division.

I'm wasn't a Daboll fan when he was with the Bills, but I am pleased as punch the Giants beat the Titans in Nashville. Hoping BUF can make it 0-2 for them on MNF. Would help with seeding down the line, as I still see them coming out of the South and going 6-0 in their division. The common-opponent games with Green Bay, KC, & Cincinnati will also be big ones for Bills fans to watch.

Honestly I think they could be 0-3 to start. I think we beat them and I think LV is better than their loss today indicates. They can certainly beat LV also but it certainly won’t be a “gimme game” for them. If they start 0-3 with us owning the tie breaker in our battle, it’ll be a big uphill climb for them to try and catch the top dogs in the AFC.

I agree with you that they’ll win their division it they also seek to squander at least one in division game. I think they’ll end 5-1 in division.

Houston has no weapons, so it is not surprising to see OJ Howard get the ball. It is one game. Let’s see what he does the rest of the year.

Lets also not overreact to the two touchdowns. They were his only two targets of the game. Even the great Tommy Sweeney has had multi-catch games (3 of them last year).

I’ve heard “oh he’s friends with Josh that is why he made the team” a few times both in relation to Sweeney and when talking potential cuts etc., and it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Have people who way this seen Josh and his personality? I would safe to say Josh is friends with basically the entire offense if not the entire team.

I highly, highly doubt the front office factors in friendship when making cuts.

It's a final roster spot for a position that will see more special teams work than anything. Could being friends with Josh be a factor? Sure. So could being a great locker room guy, playing special teams, and not carrying a massive contract. By all accounts Sweeney is beloved in the lockerroom whereas for whatever reason Howard was struggling to fit in. Neither of them were very good in camp/preseason and I refuse to have a strong opinion on them pickingthe guy that people likes and is young/cheap over the new guy with a big contract that is old and broken.

Good for him for catching on somewhere, but catching two relatively wide open passes as the backup TE doesn’t make me yearn for his services. He wasn’t good and didn’t make the team - it happens.

Morris CLEARLY outplayed him in camp and the preseason.

It'll be interesting to see who plays when Morris is healthy -- will Sweeney be scratched or will Morris continue to be scratched?

morris is the howard mold without the injury problems, plus he’s been in the system. i agree that he had a great pre-season and camp. it sucks that we have to eat the howard cap, would be nice to have a little extra flexibility for later in the year, but i don’t think there was any real reason to cut morris and keep howard. we should have just rolled with knox, morris, and sweeney from the start. i also don’t mind the risk of taking a flier on howard. it seemed like he could have added another insane dimension to our offense. beane has always demonstrated a calculated and realistic decision making process. this is just another example of that, but it unfortunately didn’t work out.

anyways, go bills. got a semi-rivalry game with the titans to think about. i trust that we have the right guys to get the job done. hard to see any weaknesses on this roster if we can stay healthy, especially without some of the brain dead calls that daboll would make that would screw up the entire flow of the offense. exciting times to be a bills fan. after all those years of losing i still almost can’t even wrap my brain around it
