I wonder if Sturm was the key to our defense last year in addition to being the death of our power play. :sarcasm:
After Saturday night’s shutout of Bakersfield, Ontario is now the top defensive team in the AHL and has allowed the lowest number of goals in the league (55), an average of 2.39 tallies per contest.
REIGN PREVIEW – Ontario at Calgary, 12/20 - LA Kings Insider

I hope the momentum keeps going for Cal to boot.

Gotta hand it to Cal. Showing some good character while proving he is too good for the AHL. The best-case scenario is still him putting it together, turning it around, and taking over the #1 job in LA.
It worked so well, that with Copper hot, maybe we should try to send Quick down but he may get claimed.

Skate blade pops off, Pete goes down and its in the net.
When it Reigns it poors.
Helenius needs a fight tutor.

Reign went all the way up to Calgary is that the farthest north they've been this season. I blame the travel for the L. LOL.

Love seeing Byfield drive like that. That's exactly what he should be doing: attacking the center of the ice with his speed, hands, and vision. I think he's a better passer than a goal scorer, and a 6'5" QB at full speed will draw a lot of attention, leaving players like Turc on that goal wide open.

Byfield like a knife thru warm butter

Did Leah Hextall get demoted to the AHL?? Lol

Actually, this woman was not bad and she was much better comparing with 2 guys from Arizona.
Well that’s good to hear, but the scoring coverage was boring af

Byfield and Turcotte have really good chemistry together.. I’d like to see them play a dozen or so more games together and see what happens

It's not a crazy thought.

Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi looked great. Turcotte is a high-end Iafallo type and Kaliyev might not be as toolsy as Vilardi but he's learning to use his body in similar manner.
I guess I'd be okay with Lardo being on that line too. Kaliyev could play with Danault given his passing ability down low and his defensive security blanket.

Turcotte - Byfield - Vilardi
Fiala - Danault - Kaliyev
Moore - Kopitar - xxx

That's a beefy, skilled top 9 with a crafty puck transporter on every line.

Can bank on Turc's chemistry with Kaliyev too though.

Just need Zegras to get a rough ride out of Anaheim!

Smart hockey from QB too… considering he has no game IQ.

He ain't bobbling the puck. That seemed to be one of the main complaints/deficiencies that was happening on the big club. He could be in a prime position to make a play and would lose the puck due to mishandling. That's all confidence and it looks like he's got it. Now call him back up after Christmas and slot him into that third line.

Apologies for horrible mouse writing.....Tage Thompson Career Stats and age during AHL games.

Could have had a goal and an assist but wolf is actually a decent goalie. Too bad Bustfield's conditioning stint don't end until next season. Lol.
