Bingo. Once he gains full confidence in his body, game, puck handling, etc. and decides to be aggressive and take the game to the opposition -- consistently.....well, watch out league. It's eventually going to happen. When it does, lots of crow will be eaten across fan bases on the Byfield hate train. It may be 3 months from now, it may be 3 years; but it's happening eventually.

Seriously nothing will make me happier than "Bustfield" making people eat crow. I think he will take time, but once he's ready he will be unstoppable. He just has too much talent you can just see it wanting to burst out. Hope he proves every hater wrong.

Been watching tons of Reign games....Byfield beasting. Wont be shocked for him to get the call back at some point and then probably played his last AHL game. Turcotte still a work in progress but can see the two way play and high end hockey IQ.

The real elephant in the room is Spence...hes probably the best RHD on the Kings roster not named Doughty. Kings really should make room for him and Bjornfot to pair together.

I agree. Once he feels confident he will be a major force and I still think has the potential to be be best player from that draft. What has to happen though is that the coach MUST trust him because that is what he needs. It’s chicken and egg to some degree but it’s one the coach to take a leap of faith.

He’s getting big AHL minutes and clearly feels comfortable, hence he’s now a force. He must get quality pp and decent 5/5 minutes if they want him to play to his ability.

Yeah the ice time and being given the opportunity by the coach is why i hope he stays down in Ontario.
He belongs with the Kings and the Kings definitely need him as the 3C. However, he's simply not going to be utilized enough and properly by TMac. So unfortunately, it's best for him to keep developing in Ontario for now. Learn how to be that top dog, leader, carry a team and get the top/main/important minutes each and every game.

Unfortunately I agree unless he’s going to be used properly and reduces Kopitar’s TOI. To do that they have to allow him to make mistakes and stick with it. He will come good.. IF.

Absolute jubilation with every Tuscon goal....complete indifference with any goal scored against. I dont blame him actually...as an AHL play by play goal for an indifferent out of market team and fan base- I would try any possible schtick as well.

He's got a future doing the Lightning radio games some day. Mishkin-Esposito are absolutely horrible. Mishkin shrieks every time the Lightning score like it's their first goal ever. You've been to the SCF 3 yrs in a row with two Cups for God sake...act like it. And Esposito yelling and moaning and groaning over the play by play call is so unprofessional and annoying. If any of you have Sirius XM NHL radio take a listen to a TB home game...you would never know they are calling for the best team year-after-year in hockey.
 
Lets see what we can do because the Danault line is set even if Arv havin a baby for now.
I also like Kopitar with Fiala and Kempe.
Haven't have a 3rd line like Iafallo, Byfield and Vilardi since Alex got hurt.
Watching Byfield closely for a potential call up after Saturdays Reign game.
Give Gabe another go as the 3C on the Kings tomorrow, just to see before you call QB up.

Totally unacceptable. Good thing it's only in Bakersfield but still sucks they have to come back probably tonight and play them tomorrow in Ontario.
 
Any update on possible injuries to Byfield and Turcotte? I was at a Christmas party last night but I thought I saw a tweet from Mayor or someone about a couple of dirty hits.


Glad to see Cal doing well. We should all be glad to see him do well. Hell next year we just may be pumped about our awesome tandem in Peterson and Copley. It would go a long ways if Cal can right the ship.
