So for the people who follow the Reign closely, how are you feeling about a first round series against the Gulls?

I assume San Diego will have a few players who join them after finishing the season with Anaheim, whereas Ontario won't have any players joining them from the Kings until the Kings postseason concludes, so maybe it will be tighter than their records would suggest?

Depends who the Ducks sent down on paper to make sure they were eligible for the play-offs. Doe anyone know?

I looked at the AHL transactions page, first when the Kings did the transactions for QB, GV, Spence and Kupari (on 3/21]) and looked what the Gulls did that same day and found three players: Buddy Robinson, Simon Benoit and Danny O’Regan. Not being a transaction expert, I’m not 100% sure those were the only ones or if the Ducks/Gulls made an earlier one for the fourth player.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking a look, it helps a little. I now have to go figure out who those guys are 😂

Edit: Yes it helped Robinson (31 games), O’Regan (5)and Benoit (52) have all had NHL time so thats the likely reinforcements.

Future top 6 material right here.
I think he has a pretty good chance to be a wing on the Kings 3rd scoring line next season. He isn’t really a kid anymore at 22, two years of NA pro plus pro experience in Europe, adequate skater, will never win a Selke but not a def liability, natural finisher, right shot.

He checks a lot of boxes for what the Kings will be looking for in someone to maybe play with Byfield and Kaliyev next year.

Where do we fit all these forwards? Blake has his work cut out for him.

Reading between the lines on Turcotte post game interview it definitely sounds like he was out with concussion. The hit he took was just cheap and would have affected anyone in similar fashion… nothing to do with being injury prone or his style of play. Seems he played pretty well which is good to hear, despite the result.

I haven’t seen any of the game but stats wise it looks like the difference was goaltending. Is that fair? Hopefully, they can turn things around quickly as these guys need a deep run and to get the games in.

Apologize ahead of time is this is a dumb question, but why are the games played in the season not equal across the league? I'm seeing the Pacific division is only playing 68 games and then the rest of the league played either 76 or 72 games...I'm so confused.

What happened to Sparks? Why is Villalta still playing? He seems brutal.

I don't think Sparks is really an option. The question is, why haven't we seen more of Hrenak? 3 games, .951 save %, 1.81 GAA. Sure, he gave up 4 goals to CO - but he faced 48 shots. That's still a .918 save %. I'd rather see more of what Hrenak can bring than more of Villalta.
Racoon has said all year the Reign will not go far in the playoffs with Villalta in net.
These stats, although small sample size, back up the eye test.

Also... the Villalta rhetoric on here is... more than a little out of control.

I get that I'm an employee and that I have stated publicly my personal affinity for Matt is great but jesus you guys talk about him like the team missed the playoffs and he's the reason why.
