Going tonight! In Section E, row 14. Center ice. $28 each, before 'inconvenience fees'. Not bad.
Anyone else going? Hope it's better than the 9-3 loss to avs I was at last week. If the Reign lose 9-3 tonight, I'll know the badness is about me and I'll stay away next time Kings and Reign are here. (have not decided if I am going Friday and / or Saturday) At least my commute is only 4.9 miles to Budweiser Ctr...am 45 miles from the Avs, Ball arena in Denver.

I wish they would just send down Byfield, Vilardi and co to get the 'meaningful games' in they were talking about as well as to help power Ontario thru a round until Spence et. al. can return too. Right now ONT is missing a TON of guys who got them to where they were, but they aren't playing on the Kings, either...
It really is silly to have them sitting there is purgatory unless the TMAC thinks they will be able to absorb NHL playoff experience via osmosis.

Aren’t they out of recalls?

Yes but having your 2nd OA, amongst others, playing no hockey at all while both your teams are in the playoffs is just about the stupidest f***ing asset management I can imagine.

Edit: these guys were paper transaction'ed so as to be eligible for AHL playoffs, yet...

- You're just a wannabe GM who doesn't know what you're talking about.

- Standings BABY

- If Byfield were played last game he'd be ruined. He'll benefit more from just watching the vets and learning through osmosis

Figure I'd just get it all out of the way now.

Back from the game. My first AHL game ever to attend.
I saw Inamoto in the warmups.
My gf asked me before puck drop "what will the final score be?" I said 4-3 Reign. Was close.

Nousiainen at 5'9" may be generous. He can sure skate and likes to activate.
One shift in the d-zone, he was out covering the point and was looking back to so if someone was covering for him. Bizarre. He's all over the place.

Tynan is Tynan and very smart and knows what to do with the puck..but I've seen about 10 Reign games on AHLTV, so I knew that. He's sure good on the PP. (have Caps VGK game on behind me and Ovi scored! 3-3. Rudely interrupted...where was I? )

Ward looks decent. Had a shot off the post, I think. He looks like a player with potential. Fagemo works pretty hard, but not a lot happened for him. Was hoping to see more from him - like doing things to set him apart. JAD looked ok.
Allard and Nogier were good pickups, since Reign lost Spence, etc. They both looked solid for this level.
Hickey and Wolanin were ok. I think they never see NHL game again.

I loved Akil's game the most. He looked closest to an NHL player out there. He may have a ways to go, having lost half a year, but I think he will make it. He's smart, good positionally and looked good in all 3 zones. Nice hands and shot. He looks about 6'1' 200 and gets involved, too. I think by next year, he can take his game to the next level. Will take dedication and hard work.

I was hoping to see Hrenak, but oh well. Lee and Hulenius honestly both look like projects. But they've only been here 2 weeks.

I’m hoping for a real strong year for him next season. His shoulder surgeries really killed this season for him, but hoping he’s playing pain free and we can see what he can bring to the team.
It's almost a bummer that the Kings are in such a tight playoff race and we can't give guys like him a game

I agree...there are players that look like they have tools and skills like a Kupari, but are not able to separate themselves from players with less skill, that just look like they are part of a system. It's like they are not able to utilize their skills in a way to make impactful plays. Maybe it's a combo of confidence, worrying too much about making a mistake, or miss a defensive assignment, or lacking hockey IQ. Kupari is capable of making the play of the game, yet usually just blends in and rarely makes those plays...or also not looking very cohesive with his linemates. I'm not sure he will ever elevate, but maybe it would take putting him in top 6 for a few weeks, but that won't happen...at least now.

Then there are players that have above average skills, but have the it factor and better than average hockey IQ. They anticipate the play quicker, know where to be and can make things happen almost every shift. Trevor Moore is showing that now. He's not Mitch Marner, but he's not a 4th line plug. He's smart, has quick feet, works hard, but knows where to be and where his linemates are. He can execute most anything he tries, pretty well.
He has separated himself from bottom 6 players now.

From watching Thomas last night, it seems he has an it factor and looks a level above JAD and even Fagemo.
He is playing with confidence and was making an impact most every shift. From watching his interview, he said he was not happy with his 5 on 5 play and can be better....pretty crazy statement, from a player that just had a 3 goal and 4 point night! That's the type of player you want on your team. He's going to make it.

Hmmm, they’re playing the Caps and Tom Wilson.

Tom Wilson gonna rip Clayton Keller in half and drink his blood before throwing his torso at Boko
In that case, it's probably a good thing he's out for the remainder of the season.

Also, I really want to see Tynan get four more points in the remaining games and reaches the 100-point mark. He has to be the AHL MVP, which will be the second year in a row if he wins the Les Cunningham Award. The last AHL player to do that was Paul Gardner in 1985 and 1986.
