Sounds just like the 2004-05 Manchester Monarchs, who had a dominant regular season with a 51-21-4-4 record, then got ousted in 6 games in the first round, thanks in part to some horrendous goaltending from Mathieu Garon.

said it many a time but Villalta my least favorite prospect....was the weakest goalie in the Rookie camp and nothing has been shown to change my mind. Hope Hrenak gets more starts and can get in a groove.

Fagemo is also shooting 20%. There has to be room on the big club for a goal-scoring specialist. And it's not like he's a complete liability on the other end of the ice and he's one-dimensional.

Not to worry. I have a feeling he may be a call up next season if he doesn't make it on the roster full-time (depending on who they sign/trade in free agency, etc.)

I hope so because Blake is going to have an issue with these players not being waiver eligible very soon. That's one of the risks when you marinate these guys for years and keep them down in favor of bridge players.

You either have to start trusting your scouting and development staff and graduate these kids into key roles or trade them soon. I have hopes that Arty, Fagemo and Chromiak will someday be in the lineup together. When have we ever had three legit shooters on the team? I can dream I guess.

Edit: @Sleeping Dog are you sure it’s all 3 games at home for the Reign? I can’t find anywhere that says definitively, and the only 3 game series in 2019 was 2 games at home and 1 on the road for the top seed.

In one of the three playoff games, the Gulls will be listed as the “home” team, allowing the the final line change. Strange AHL rules sometimes.

And the reign check is my only AHL podcast. Learning more about what’s going on in the pacific division or AHL in general would be cool. Or interviews with the press that covers the other team before series would also make things more well rounded.

I agree with the Doktor. Continue the Reign interviews (coaches, players and staff). Looking for more episodes as the team goes through the playoffs for (hopefully) a long run.
