Ontario Reign 21-22 Thread 2: Reigndrops keep falling on my head

Reign player moves this week, clearing some room for the new arrivals and hopefully players getting closer to returning from injury.

Ingham, Parik and Pavlychev all reassigned to their respective ECHL teams, Ierullo released from his ATO after playing 3 games, and Kasastul, who played 25 games for the Reign on a PTO (the max you can play unless you sign another one) was released.

I don't like how they've handled the goalies the last couple of years. All the back and forth, and Ingham only 21 total games this year and only 14 all of last year. And Parik with only 32 this year.
None of these guys have been very good in Ontario (small sample size), but they needed these guys to get a lot of playing time and they're not really getting it.
They really needed one of these two to share the load in Ontario this year, so one of them could be a starter next year.
Now they've confirmed Villalta is no good, and the other two are still big questions marks.
Not having an ECHL affiliate is hurting the young goalies.

I hope Fagemo hits 30 goals. Dude is still only 22 and is shooting 21%. Improving year over year. Yes, he struggled in his cup of coffee with the Kings, but FFS our NHL team struggles to score goals. There comes a point where instead of always pointing at the young players and their struggles at the NHL level you have to take a hard look (some of us already have) at the NHL coaching staff and ask why these kids do well in Juniors and the AHL but not in the Kings system.

Hey Todd, our Power play has struggled for years. Our regulars have failed to produce, is there any talk of having the regulars get less time and having the younger guys get some power play starts?

I was teasing him. I don’t think most of us care what they say. It’s sad as there is not a lot of Kings content out there.

I am very unimpressed with the whole Kings media management. Hate the broadcast crew, like our radio guys, Jesse is always fun to listen to and I like Stoll and Army but I could give two craps about non hockey fluff like bark madness etc. if I am watching a game let it be about the game and hockey.

Living in Canada access to anything Leafs, Oilers etc is abundant and on topic. Unfortunately up here to here anything King related it is the odd Sirius XM blup It would be great to have that kind of Kings coverage. As you guys and gals know a few of our insiders/ media don’t pull punches.

At this point I’m willing to give Craig Johnson a promotion to the big club over zee German. It’s a low bar, but CJ has done more in uniform and behind the bench for the org than Marco.

As long as he doesn’t knee any players in the head during practice, he can’t be worse than the current guy.
