JAD and Vilardi both with another strong game tonight. It's time.

Two home games before a cross country roadie next week, then we are in the Pacific time zone until the end of the month. Trade deadline is march 21st. I imagine any lineup changes will happen before Sat, but big moves probably won't happen until we're back on the 8th or 9th.

If JAD and Vilardi were to be called up, where would they play? Besides AA, Byfield, and Brown, who do you take out of the lineup right now? Both JAD and Vilardi have been deployed as wingers in Ontario and I don't see Todd benching Dustin.

Maybe send Byfield back down and run something like this?

Brown - JAD - Vilardi

Byfield isn’t going back down, he’s an NHL now..
They want him to see what it takes to be an NHLer and experience a playoff push or possibly a playoff run no matter how short will grant him valuable experience.
I expect to see a much more assertive QB after the TDL and even more so next season

Just because we can’t see it happening, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen.

Sitting Brown & Anthanasiou in favor of any number of prospect combinations would be an instant improvement.

Can’t expect any sort of player development for Q, or first round success from the team icing a 3rd line with those two gomers.

If you suscribe to the Atheletic read the latest article about Blake. Pumps The veteran 4 tires hard. Pumps Browns super hard. Don’t think we will be seeing Brown sit.

Read it...made me throw up.

"I want Brown to lead us into the playoffs" or some such horseshit like that...on what rink is that gonna happen??

Even if I did subscribe, reading that sort of lip service is liable to make me queasy.

I’ll take your word for it.

Vilardi definitely belongs on the big club. The place to put him, naturally, is in AA's spot. But I think coaching & management are hesitant to put 2 rookies together like that. At a guess, I'd say they watch QB over the next 7-10 games, and hope to see an incremental improvement. It doesn't have to be big, but the trip before the break he made some really poor puck choices. He's been better since then. If they see him continue to improve - even just a bit - then I think they'll bring Vilardi to his wing. If QB doesn't show any improvement, or regresses a bit, Vilardi may wait until next season. Which wouldn't be terrible - the AHL playoffs are good seasoning -but not ideal.

Yea Villalta did his best Hasek impression tonight, minus the skill part.

That pass from Vilardi to Kupari on his goal though was insane. It was in the net before anyone knew what was happening.

3 point night for Spence as well as being +1. He’s now got 29 points in his last 23 games and is +5 over that stretch. This kid is going to make things really interesting in camp. I’m getting a little worried that he will be one of the prospects team are interested in…

For everyone who watches the Reign regularly, does it look like Vilardi has fully embraced being a winger? I mean not just “play” the position as instructed by the coaches but really learn the nuances of the position knowing full well that perhaps that is his best chance to be back in the NHL - at least with the Kings? I see the points and everything but not sure if his heart’s really into it.

I read it as he wants to see Brown go out with a bang. That sort of stuff can get a team really invested emotionally, beyond a usual level, so I have no issue with what he said.
Nobody knows what’s gonna happen this off season except Brown and Blake, but at least Blake came out and declared that he doesn’t have any intention to trade him. Right decision in my opinion.

I would be very happy with Brown coming back as a coach next year. Dude is a leader but Father Time and his torpedo playing style for a dozen years has left him a shell of what he used to be.

The guy led us to the cup and blew up a few people along the way. Will always have a place in my heart for him.

just want to see the guy remain in the organization and help mentor these kids

I can't forgive the Reign playing this badly when I have to listen to the Roadrunner's broadcast have an aneurysm every time they score

I agree. That’s how I read it but nothing would surprise me.

Dude is seriously comical. I laugh so hard every time he gets excited at every Tucson play and every goal call when the Reign scores.

What the heck happened to Turcotte missing his 6th straight I believe. His leg fall off. Man seems like kid is made of fine china.
