Triplecrown, you came through for us. Thank you for your take on the players and the game. Much appreciated

According to the link below, neither LaDue nor Scuderi have played in any games. Is this a numbers issue? Thanks!!!

According to the article from ReignInsider.com yesterday, Paul LaDue is still coming back from a lower-body injury and Scuderi will play when needed, but is otherwise taking a step back from game-playing for now, though he attends (some?) practices.

LaDue had a minor injury but it appears he could play this weekend.

No real reason given for Scurderi. Word is he's stil deceding what he wants to do. And the Kings/Regin will let him have the time he needs to make that choice.

The Ontario Reign lost their second straight against Texas last night. Joey Zakrewski covered the team and Lindsay got some good quotes. As you might have read, the team took 3 goalies on the road trip and Dusty Imoo, the goaltending coach, might still have to be the back-up today. His son Jonah Imoo got hurt last night and Lindback's visa still hasn't come through. That leaves recently called up new prospect Jack Flinn and Coach Dusty.

from October 29 postgame quotes: Stothers and Kempe:

Jonah’s got a lower-body injury and the nightmare continues here with the Kings organization. We really don’t have that much time to deal with it or address it. We play tomorrow at 3 o’clock. Flinner’s healthy as far as I know, unless he eats something tainted on the bus on the way to San Antonio. We have Dusty here, he’s brought his stuff again. And way, way down that depth chart is a young guy named Joey Z who’s just looking for an opportunity.

from October 29: Bus Texts with Stothers:

ORI: Thanks for clarifying. Listened to your interview with Joey (Zakrewski) so don’t want to ask too many of the same questions...

Stothers: You can ask anything you want. I am sitting on a bus to San Antonio trying to figure out how we took nine penalties and they only took three. Kempe was real good tonight...
...
Stothers: We had pace, we had puck possession, we had support, we had a forecheck, we took away time and space, and we were courageous to defy them coming thru us. We blocked shots and truly wanted to be hit by the puck. No one on the entire team wanted to let a teammate down. I think tonight we took a real giant step in becoming what a TEAM is all about. Sacrifice for the good of your hockey brothers!!

Another PTO for the goalie coach. Stothers was incredibly pissed with the officiating this weekend. Hopefully he doesn't get fined. Last night 9 penalties on the Reign, 3 on the Stars.

Lindback's Visa issue is cleared up and he is traveling with the Reign to Tuscon. Edit: Correction, he was on the ice at Kings practice this morning, but the plan is supposedly to have him go to Tuscon to play.

Mike Amadio, has hit that struggle we expected from a first year player. He is having troubling generating anything.

But it's expected, of a first year guy.

The hype train for him got a little out of control on here last year, imo. Hes still a solid prospect no doubt. Whether he is going to be a scorer at nhl level i dont know, he will likely be a role player at least.

However comparing him to kempe is just wrong (like i saw last year).. Kempe is quite a talent and will be a key top 6 player real soon. Kempe will be a better player than pearson at very least, imo. Cant wait until he makes the jump.

What happened to Bjorkstrand?

He must be hurt, right?

stats

Bjorkstrand has played 3 out of 9 games so far.

Last game:

Michael Mersch – T.J. Hensick – Sean Backman
Adrian Kempe – Mike Amadio – Jonny Brodzinski
Brett Sutter – Patrick Bjorkstrand – Justin Auger
Sam Herr – Andrew Crescenzi – Michael Latta

Zac Leslie – Vincent LoVerde
Kurtis MacDermid – Paul LaDue
Alex Lintuniemi – Zach Trotman

scratch:F Joel Lowry, F Paul Bissonnette, D Damir Sharipzianov, D Rob Scuderi and G Jonah Imoo.

He is there but too rotation going on, but now Kempe has been playing as a leftwing so it open's Bjorkstrand a chance to play. Sutter has been playing as a leftwing also, usually center.

I had read that Sharipzianov was sent to the ECHL...... is he back up?

Kempe has looked fine at wing, Mike Amadio is struggling playing against Men, like we thought he would.

This is a good learning year for Mike Amadio.

I asked that question because Shore is absolutely expendable at this point...

So would you say Amadio could be an upgrade over Shore??? I know Amadio's problem is scoring so far but from what I've been able to gather his defense is still as good as ever....

On the Reign Instagram they posted a MacDermid hit and fight. He is a monster now and 5x stronger than his first La camp. He is taking over for Matt Greene sooner than later.

Amadio is not anywhere near Shore defensively. At this point in his development, Amadio is not an NHL player, he is barely an AHL player.

This is why young players, need to develop in the AHL, it allows them to make mistakes, and round out their game. Also finish putting on muscle, and growing into their bodies.

The NHL is not a development league.

Also wanted to add:

So far the team is not very good, they are a mess defensively since Forbort/Gravel have been called up, they also lost some more stable guys since years past.

The Goalie play has also been terrible, so that doesn't help. The Loss of good prospect like Bartosak is hurting really bad.

LaDue, is not as polished or good as everyone thinks he is, extremely prone of coverage errors, and getting pushed off the puck(Although Normal for first year guys playing MEN).

LaDue, has work ahead of him.

Kempe, looks like he is a taking another step, his raw Talent is starting to mold into a dynamic player(keeping him in the AHL, correct call).

Mersch, I would rather see him in the Kings lineup than Purcell, but Mersch is such a specialty player. He is pretty much a PP player, he is just not a very good ES player. His extreme lack of foot speed, and poor skating keeps him from getting to areas quickly.

I am not sure Mersch is ever going to make the Kings roster, he is slow for even the AHL.

So what you're saying is that there's no one ready for a call-up in case of a forward injury? This just gets better and better. Our forward prospect depth just isn't there.

Kempe would be the only one, but I would rather he stay in the AHL for the full season.

Thanx for the insightful write up...
looking ahead to this current Kings team I would assume getting guys like Quick,Gabby, Andreoff and McNabb back will only help this club improve, while the ability to have a kid like Kempe on the farm is nice boon.
Our 3rd line has been our best line period, the 70s line is coming around but dammit if Kopi doesn't need some real help on that line although he's been a bit snakebitten lately with ll those easy chances.. Is there anyone out there we could actually afford that could help our team out????

Mike Amadio, Paul LaDue have both stepped up their games. Both are playing a more assertive game.

Both are also putting points on the board now. Good job from both of them, getting out of the funk they were in.
