Do you guys have running water yet or are you still melting & boiling snow like they did in the Middle Ages?

I wonder when the electrical grid fails next? Oh, wait….

Apparently maybe by Sunday. Guessing getting the parts from the same outfit we got the bridge trusses from and who supplied us supplies for the concrete pillars. Wonder if it will be like the LRT, where we will slowly ramp up the water availability over a one year period, starting say at 10% for the first month, and so on.

As long as the bike lanes are clear and their much requested and needed expansion will soon be underway, we're all good

They’ve put in, removed then put back in bike lanes in my neighborhood over the past decade or so. Pretty sure the whole bike lane bullshit is just an expensive make work project by our esteemed councillors and mayors furiously trying to turn Edmonton into a sunbelt European city despite the realities of nearly 6 months of cold/winter here.

The Premier doing some very important work

Hopefully Edmonton is next. The whole added tax is just another civic money grab like photo radar. Next you will be taxed per fart (on both duration and intensity) in order to “reduce greenhouse gasses.”

The government will soon spend $1000 per person and force you to wear fart-o-meters that you wedge up your ass, in order to collect $20 per year per person in tax revenue.

A tax like this would curb my behavior of ordering my beloved bean burritos.

To be honest, the only time I saw the guy was when he was attacking other posters. I think that's why he may have been sent to the shadow realm.
He was a defender of the Oiler kingdom. Called out trolls for being stupid. A true warrior to the very end.

Think this is dumb. I don't like a nanny state or dumb taxes, but mountains of plastic waste is likely doing a number on the population and almost definitely is not healthy for us (there are a growing number of studies pointing to microplastics leading to potential cancers in humans). You also look at testosterone levels dropping in men ... we should be asking what the f*** is in our food and water because studies are showing its completely contaminated with microplastics. It all over our water supply and food supply, etc. etc. we need to cut that shit out.

All that recycling plastics is largely BS too, most of the plastics people recycle just end up right next to the regular garbage. 90% of the shit we buy doesn't need to be in plastic packaging.

Cruised around Cape Horn yesterday which was pretty amazing. Seen nature & wildlife I’ll never see again. Lots to do, see and learn on this trip.

For example last night I learned that Jalapeño Chili Cheese Fries are not compatible with a minor gastrointestinal bug.

Mrs.5 paid the price.

I’m heading to Vegas for the first time next month. Any recommendations on places to see and things to do? Keep in mind I’ll be going with the Mrs.

That’s a real open ended question, as so much to do, depending on your interests. If you want some good info on restaurants, hotels, etc, here is a pretty good follow on X. Go back and read her posts and you’ll get some good info.

My wife and I have been to Vegas close to 40 times now, so if you’re looking for any specific info, feel free to DM.

Been to Vegas a bazillion times - my daughter danced (the one @Cloned will never date) at a lot of competitions there, Mrs5 liked to go once in a while when we had our place in Phoenix and I had to be there for a massive trade show / supplier meetings once a year for a week every year for nearly my entire professional life.

Check out the many shows on Vegas.com - too many to name but my favorites were Blue Man Group, O, Jersey Boys, the various Cirque shows are always good and Awakening. Been a few years so many new shows are there. I’m going to Vegas to see Iron Maiden in October and promised Mrs5 a new show on our other night so let me know what you see if it’s a newer one! Book ahead if you can, the popular shows sell out way in advance.

Lots of good restaurants, clubs and bars to visit but in some seating is bottle service only so be prepared to pay through the nose. Used to be you could get good value dining and drinking but now it’s a big dick contest in Vegas to see who can spend the most money in the least amount of time.

Of course there’s the big casinos which are neat to see but once you’ve walked and become lost in a couple they all seem the same. I like Paris and New Yorks casinos as they look and feel different and Paris had my favorite restaurant in Vegas until recently. Bellagio is nice too. Fontainblue just opened and is supposed to be pretty cool.

Fremont Street is okay, not for me but it’s cool to see. Hang onto your wallet there. Oh and do the Walk the Strip challenge. Start at MGM and walk to Fontainblue. It doesn’t seem like that long but each casino is like 1 giant city block long lol. A couple good shopping areas on the strip too. Caesar’s and Venetian have pretty cool store section as does Planet Hollywoods casino. I always liked popping into the Coke and M&M stores across from New York. I would buy a giant bag of black, grey and white M&Ms to bring home for my office lol.

Anyway if it’s your first time the place can be sensory overload. Have fun!!

Edit / just read @bellagiobob post, now I know why’s he is named that - but same thing DM if you have any questions.

Edit edit / Just remembered the Sphere. That thing looks pretty cool.

Good reply. It's a very difficult question to answer because everyone has such different tastes. We've gone with many different couples over the years, many of them going for the first time, and we ended up doing completely different things each time, as some people are into fancy restaurants, staying out till the sun comes up, etc, some are on more of a budget and want to mainly go to the free sightseeing activities, others want to soak up the sun at a cabana during the day, others love their shopping. So to give proper recommendations you really need a bit more info to help cater the trip to the specific person/couple.
