What do you suppose the effect on the team is when it's a close game, their goaltender keeps it a tie after the 1st and the guy you're spilling your guts out in front of lets in 4 goals on 14 shots?

This. Notice how every defenseman would rather take a penalty than let the player have even a weak shot. No faith in Pavs. I like Pavs but he has not really shown any improvement whatsoever. Will he? Or is he just a flukey goaltender good at embellishing what should have been easy saves? I say this as someone with a Pavelec jersey, even. So many shots off of the faceoff in the zone just going through.

So this is why Hainsey was always on the ice blocking shots :amazed:

The game was so boring and I had brought both my kids but could not find Mick E Moose fighter pilot. Is he still with the Jets? demoted to the Ice Caps or ECHL team?

After the game I realized that I don' think I have seen him all season. Perhaps he is drowning his sorrows in the Budweiser King club all game long.

Toby played Ok at moments today. Still not a top pairing D-man on any playoff calibre team in the entire NHL.

Love him all you want this guy is not taking us to the promised land/playoffs. As a 5-6 dman perhaps he has a role. Softer than Scotties rear end wipe to play against.

Can't wait to cheer the boys on again against the Wings.

Go Jets GO!

If Enstrom was a #6 D in that game the rest of the core were 7-11 D

I know Toby is your whipping boy but his size is the least of our worries this season. He may still get banged up and I will have to eat my words but he has been our best defenseman to this point. I could care less whether he hits as long as he plays good hockey....we have lots of size and grit and nobody is running us out of the building so every guy doesn't need to be a banger. Stuie is a beast and a warrior but he sucks..... Duncan Keith plays the skill non physical game and that seems to work ok for Chicago.

You will never be able to convince some people of that.

Example is Cherry giving air time to Mark Stuart tonight and talking about how great he is because of his physical style. The truth is that he has been the Jet's worst D so far this season.

I don't think we'll ever dive low enough for Reinhart....
But Draisaitl or Nylander will fall because they are Euro

Non Russians playing in Canada , do they fall? Highly skilled Swedes , Finns , or Chech , don't fall far do they ?

Chevy also signed Pavs long term, signed Jokinen as number one centre, traded Oduya away for pretty much nothing, overpaid for Wheeler and Ladd, shall I go on?

Pavs is a bad contract.

Jokinen was not signed as a #1 center, and he was widely regarded as the best available center at the time.

The return for Oduya was Jimmy Lodge, JC Lipon, Jan Kostalek and Tucker Poolman. That's a bad return on an Oduya rental?

Both Ladd and Wheeler would have made more money on the open market had they gotten to FA. Ladd makes lower tier second line money and he is clearly a good first line player. Wheeler makes first line money and has been playing as a first line calibre player for the last over the last 160 games (ever since he's been given first line minutes)

But please, do go on.

I've heard good things about Michael Del Colle and Sam Bennett in the OHL this year. I'm looking forward to starting to watch some of these guys soon.

In 9 out of 15 games this season the Jets have scored 2 or less goals, that and giving up 1-2 bad goals a game our are biggest problems. Overall I don't think our D has been all that bad.
