Little and Enström have both been clearly better than Buff, and have actually looked to easily deserve their contracts. However, they're not very noticable players, so I can understand how an outside fanbase would miss them.

I had to object that there was a Kane. No response since i last checked. Friendly reminder that this is all for discussions sake.

For a tactic called a swarm, there's almost no pressure on the puck in 5 on 5 EVER!

That's something I've noticed too. My experience of "the swarm" is the Miami Heat, and they actually swarm the ball carrier, forcing turnovers and stuff. This just looks like a swarm of bees in the middle of the zone trying to get hit by the puck.

Everyone remembers Byfuglien from the playoff runs too. I don't think they necessarily know him as a defenseman.

At this point, the way things are headed we might as well let Noel ride out the season. If we finish bottom five, (not convinced once Trouba's back it'll be that bad) there's no doubt he is gone. And that's likely enough to have Pavelec bought out too as for the 3rd year in a row he'll have been a part of it. And we'll be looking at adding another high first and MAYBE getting Burmistrov back. Or at least bringing something in for him. Maybe it doesn't come to that.

Noel seemed like an owner choice, hopefully Chevy will be allowed to pick the next one.

Chevy also signed Pavs long term, signed Jokinen as number one centre, traded Oduya away for pretty much nothing, overpaid for Wheeler and Ladd, shall I go on?

You're right about Pavelec.

Jokinen wasn't signed as a #1 center, is on a short-term contract, and was the best center available at the time in free agency that year.

Oduya was worth exactly what he was traded for, just because he's done well in Chicago doesn't mean he played that way for Winnipeg.

Wheeler may have gotten off to a slow start but if he and the cap continue and go on an upward trend his contract definitely isn't bad.

Ladd isn't overpaid by a longshot. He brings a mostly consistent two-way game and is our leader.

Eye tests? That's the opposite of evidence. Why do so many have such a hard time with a scientific approach to measuring sport performance?

I didn't really say it was evidence, I'm just saying that people will see certain players do something visually impressive and think they either do that or all the time or it makes them simply not notice all the bad plays they do. Like you said a lot of people don't like it when stats are brought up too, for whatever reason.

Weekes probably watched no Thrashers games, and possibly a few Jets games and thinks that Noel made these players better when he really didn't.

And now we watch Reimer make about 5 lights-out saves in the first three minutes.

Painful.

Vancouver is up 3-0 and Reimer just let in a soft goal on a wrist shot. Do you feel better now? :shakehead

Watching this Leafs game and it made me realize how soft we play. Chicago comes in and scores 5 in our building and there's not even a fight (or even a tussle)? Does anyone on this team care? We can talk about Pavs all we like, but unless he embarrasses himself like Emery did last night, where are his teammates? We play soft as a box of Kleenex and it didn't look like a single player cared we got smoked in our building. Where was the message for the next game? Heck I would have settled for a good hard hit in the 3rd, but instead this team played a spineless game.

Sorry for the rant...but I feel better now.

Would the fight actually helped?

Did it help in Philly? Is physicality helping in Van for Toronto?

The Flyers played a tie game after the fight. Before the fight they let in goals and scored 0. I'll leave you to clean the egg off your face yourself, sir!:sarcasm:

We got our ***** handed to us by arguably they best team in the league. They are the complete package. Maybe playing a team of this caliber 3 times this month will do us some good.

Contrary to popular belief the sky is not falling.

We don't play with much confidence but we have been playing hard games the last few weeks with nothing to show for it.

It would be nice to have Trouba back. My guess is he another few weeks out at least. Hopefully sooner!

Can any of our forwards make a pass to save their lives? When the Hawks come up the ice it's nice crisp quick passes... on the tape and in seconds it's in our end (and in our net :help:). It always seems like the Jets' passes are consistently 3 feet in front or behind the intended target...
