I think I have the answer, Noel thinks Pavs is superb because at practice he makes the saves on Wright and Thornburn.

I'm listening to 1290 too and it's pretty hilarious. Can they not see how different this game might be if Chicago doesn't get to play with a lead from three minutes into the second...

1290 "its easy to blame the goaltender. but its not the goaltender that let the goals go by, its the entire team".

What a complete jagoff. If I owned the station I'd fire this clown right away. There's no way to reason with someone this stupid.

edit: I'm so sorry I called in right after the game so I couldn't comment on these blowhards. My blood pressure is actually rising right now.

It's not just the goaltenders fault the puck went in to the net, it's the entire team. The entire team EXCEPT for goaltender.

Ok, now I'm going to build a strawman. :D

Sometimes I swear there's this perception among our media corps and a segment of the Jets fanbase that the playoffs are this distant pipe dream that requires meticulous team building and the patience of a saint. If we're talking about building a SC contender, fine. We're talking playoffs. Something that more than half the teams in the NHL achieve while being jammed together parity-wise by the salary cap.

This is my opinion, take it or leave it: We can talk about the "issues with the core" and "not having the horses" when we're continually getting bounced in the first or second round. If we're looking at making the next step (ie. making the playoffs), let's talk about the issues that are staring us right in the face.

Comic-Con had a 3 hour wait to get in so I left, I turn on the radio to hear the Jets game only to hear them let in 3 goals in like 5 minutes. :shakehead

Not a good day, although maybe it's good I missed watching most of it anyways.

Went to the grocery store for more hummus and blue tortilla chips, cause come on, i knew we were losing this one, ended up doing a whole cart of groceries, pulled up the NHL app not even five minutes in the damn store, and BOOM 4-1.

I would appreciate a 2nd capable goaltender in our system rather than the #1/#2 thing we have going now. Having 2 starters battling it out would hopefully lead to a battle for the job. You play like ****... maybe you don't play the rest of the week.

Miller might cost too much in picks/prospects. I wouldn't unless you think he'll be such an improvement over Pavelec that you guys make the playoffs. And he very well could be!

The Jets need to learn how to score ****ing goals.

Outside of the "star forwards" the team is awful so far.

This reminds me of some comments Evander Kane made a few weeks ago.

He said there were too many guys on this team who "did not want the puck."

In his biography, Michael Jordan said that when the game was on the line he wanted the ball.

He also said that he was ultra competitive and always wanted to win whether it was basketball or chess.

Kane is right, we have too many guys who are just happy to play and collect a pay check.

This team is at least five years away from making the playoffs.

Looks like they left out outcoached. Although I guess nothing is ever Noels fault either, is it? That must be frustrating for the rest of the players, to get blamed for everything and watch the two things that could very well be two of the major issues with the team get absolved of all criticism.

This team isn't built to play the style that Noel preaches.

I know people don't like the idea of bringing in a Guy Boucher-type that plays for 2-1 wins, but I have to say: this current roster has speed to burn in transition and enough rangy, tenacious players to suffocate teams through the neutral zone.

What they clearly lack are guys who consistently win battles along the boards, the kind of guys that allow the "get pucks deep" mentality to function. Seriously, how often do the Jets create offense off the cycle or when their starting point is below the hash marks in the other teams' end. Nearly all their offense is off the rush in transition.

I hear Trouba is really competitve. That is one guy I would build around. Bogo has regressed this year and I would move him.
