I guess by the coaches comment the way to win a game is to have no shots on our net. That way the goalie doesn't need to make a save.

LOL Pretty much... all the hawks had to do today was get shots through the Jets D onto Pavelec and it was pretty much guaranteed goals

I really hope that was Pardy's last game as a Jet. He was responsible for two of the Hawk's goals by pinching in, being flat footed and turning the puck over at the offensive blue line leading to odd man rushes. He's a much bigger red flag than Pavs was this game and that's saying a lot as Pavs also had a poor game.

Some positives? Our first period was great and we went toe to toe with the hawks. 3rd line was good but needs to be supported by our top two lines.

Pavs was shaky from the start. Very early in the game he dribbled a rebound about 10 feet in front of him. I can't emphasize this enough... he is a very difficult goalie to play in front of, even when he's making the saves. He can't handle the puck and he is very unpredictable with rebounds. His D are constantly left with surprises and it makes it difficult to play a confident and consistent game.

So every player is held accountable, right Noel? Except for Pavelec, he doesn't count.

He's ok with embarrassing the rest of his players in the media and calling them out.

Just not Pavelec.

I hope this team goes on a Flyers like losing streak to force the upper management to make the changes that are necessary. I for one am looking forward to a 7-0 loss :sarcasm:

Oooo this fight with Weekes is getting fun.

Now he's telling me Wheeler is better than in Atlanta and he would know because he played in the SE.... lol

... What!?

Weekes played in the SE pre-lockout, and retired before Wheeler started playing in Atlanta!

I find it weird Weekes said Little when his highest goal total in his career is with Atlanta.

Little has been proving that he wasn't a product of Kovalchuk and that he actually is a pretty good hockey player. I don't think Noel did a darn thing there.

I would argue the kool aid drinkers are the ones who think Chevy's building a good roster and signing the right core of players to long term deals.

So you're saying Wheeler, Little, Ladd, Bogosian, Kane, and Enstrom aren't good players on the right contracts?

Pavelec is pretty much his only bad long term contract. Chevy hasn't been a god, but there haven't been a lot of moves by him that I disagree with.

I know for a fact that I'm not drinking kool-aid with my rose coloured glasses on.

Pavs was shaky from the start. Very early in the game he dribbled a rebound about 10 feet in front of him...

I forgot about that one. That rebound was brutal. The puck hits him, bounces off and dribbles away and he stands there watching it go. He had time to corral it. It's like he thinks once the puck hits him and goes the other way his work is done...

TSN 1290 now saying this wasn't pavs fault. FML. This team is doomed.

In a 5-1 loss everyone is responsible. I think Pavelec has a bit more responsibility for it than others but all but Frolik were not good. I think Pavs is still a hot topic on this board since some want to blame only him. He's the worst of a bad bunch today.

Hmm, what does the narrative on 1290 have to say about that?

-"We don't have the horses, we can't handle a team like Chicago"
-"We weren't up to Chicago's compete level"
-"I fault the defense for not doing an effective job of clearing the crease"
-"Chicago was all over the Jets in the second and third!"
-"Chicago's puck possession advantage was astronomical!"
-"They get outchanced, outpassed, this organization is a mess"
-"It wasn't a matchup issue, it was a firepower issue!"

These aren't strawmen, btw. I'm lifting verbatim quotes.

I mean, I'm not saying that Noel isn't capable of making players improve their play, but... I'm not really seeing it.

Wheeler proved in his short stint in Atlanta that he was capable of playing pretty damn well when he was given an opportunity and minutes.

Bogosian... I give Huddy 100% on that one.

Kane. Obviously he was going to improve? He was 19 years old in Atlanta!

Little, yeah, that's possible. But Little has always been pretty damn good defensively. If he actually proves that he has taken another step offensively, then I'll give Noel some props on that one.

Listening to these Pejorative Slurs on TSN 1290 make excuses is like listening to a high school girl slobber all over the Hawks. Advanced stats say we did quite well, yet if you listen to these bozos you'd think the shots were 40-20 for Chicago.

I'm at a loss.

Why does it matter what the radio show says? They have no effect on the team whatsoever.

The upper management is seeing the exact same thing that we're seeing, and Noel is trying to cling to his job with both hands.

I predict a new head coach at the start of the next season at the latest. I agree that Noel needs to be fired, but we can't be one of those teams that have knee jerk reactions. Chevy and company should take time to figure out who they think would be a good coach.

Seriously, even with all the injuries, individually our top 4 on D is pretty damn good. But our strategy for team D always seemed pretty stupid to me. We play it like we were on a PK.

Looks like they left out outcoached. Although I guess nothing is ever Noels fault either, is it? That must be frustrating for the rest of the players, to get blamed for everything and watch the two things that could very well be two of the major issues with the team get absolved of all criticism.
