ok what's wrong with QUICK!?

Yeah, DeBoer didn't tell his skaters to go high on Quick at all. He told them to play shuffleboard with the puck.

Maybe we can accept the fact that Quick's style, when he's on, works very well, and he's just not on at the moment? He was on in the playoffs, hence the Conn Smythe.

I figured this would be bring up the recent success of Bernier. And in all honesty, I know JB has good stats, but I just think teams played better in front of him. JB for the most part has looked ok to good but nothing great. Also the fact that JB has absolutely nothing to lose whereas JQ is the reigning conn smythe winner. Maybe constant goalie juggling this year by DS is bothering JQ as oppose to last year where JB was non-existent. It could be anything. But I don't think JB's better goalie than JQ. More often than not, JB's been a non-factor imo.

That might be acceptable were it not for a fact that he had a great season all season long, and his previous two seasons were also very good as well.

How short-sighted some of us can be.

Of course not. But they are also not telling us the extent of his injury, what the CT showed of his back, what procedure what actually performed. I do have extensive experience experience working with my medical directors discussing these ( types) I use that term loosely as we don't know the type and with the attending MD's and the patients on the recovery process and treatment. I find that the NHL keeps more things a secret then other sports leagues.
 
Maybe Quick's problem is a little bit of everything that's been mentioned. It's a little bit of the defense been bad. A little bit of not being 100% healthy. He may not feel 100% healthy but feels much better than last year and tries to overdo things. He is not as focused as he was the last few years. He hasn't had the training camp and not enough practices due to the lockout to work on his technique. He's been heavily scouted and everyone shoots high from further out. Everything combined is making Quick look not like the previous Quick!

I agree, I'm an RN, too! Patients sometimes don't tell us exactly how they are feeling! I can totally see Quick saying he's alright even though he probably has some nagging issues he feels unimportant enough to reveal.He probably feels he can tolerate it and work through it as he believes it doesn't interfere with his game.

Wow Ron, get a grip.

You pulled some silly statement out about Quick versus the Devils in the Stanley Cup finals, so of course I replied saying he was on during the playoffs. Now I'm short sighted for not discussing his regular season as well? :shakehead

For the second straight post, just accept the fact Quick's a damn great goalie and right now he's not on his game, whether due to a funk or due to recovery from his injury, or something else. That's all. Jeeze.

Silly statement? You mean about him allowing only 7 goals in 6 games? That's silly?

Well, I can tell you I have been waiting 45 years for that ****ing Cup. So it isn't silly to me.

Therefore, I am willing to give Quick some slack. He's still our no. 1 goalie and being no. 1 he deserves to play in at least 75% of the games. He's probably going to continue to play until Tuesday, which is the back-to-back against Phoenix.

And, by the way, stop your condescending tone to me. It's getting old.

What is getting old is you flip-flopping around. You start talking about the playoffs, so I comment on the playoffs in response, but then that's not good enough because I didn't mention the regular season too?

And I know you've been waiting 45 years for that cup. If you go back to some of the threads at the time, I was saying how, as excited as I am for myself to be seeing my team win a cup after 25 years of cheering, I was even more excited for you as you have been a fan since the beginning.

And I'm only as condescending as you are, assuming your 'short-sightedness' can see that.

That's the trick, I got to get down there. 2,000+ miles stands in my way :laugh:

On the plus side, in a few years me and the wife are talking about having a yearly vacation in an NHL city. WWe already know which one will be the first one :D
 
Does Quick respond tonight or not

He let in 5 goals against Phoenix and with San Jose being offensively inept at the moment, how many goals scored by the Sharks will turn your thoughts from the problem being our "Defense" to the problem might actually be with Quick? He has to respond tonight. These points are huge, and if he fails to respond, put Bernier back in net and see if he can keep 5 or less out a game. Ride that horse till it bucks. I'm tired of reading excuses for the guy. Clearly this is not the Quick of last year, and with a 8.94 sv% this is his worst since joining the NHL. I love Quick and what he's done for us but I personally don't care who's in net as long as we get the damn points needed. If it's broke... FIX IT!

That's because it's his style. He's kinda boring to watch, not much flash at all. It's because he's in position all the time. Well most always. JB is not better than JQ, just different styles. JB style is fitting better with the team in front of him than JQ's.
 
So since JB was pulled in St Louis, Quick has played every game, even though we've had back to back games. Something has to be going on here behind the scenes.
 
yup...nothing wrong here... 1-0 with 4 shots on goal

it's all the D's fault...it's all Mitchell's fault

i cant watch anymore as long as Quick is in net...we will lose every game unless the KINGS give their 200%
