ok what's wrong with QUICK!?

I am not going to nitpick the entire game with you. If that's your perception, that's your perception. Despite their lack of defense, Detroit still has plenty of talent. You act as though the game was completely in the Kings' hands, and Detroit was "allowed" to play well in our defensive zone. Please. Detroit had something to say too about the flow of the game.

Of course they did. I'm not saying the Wings are inept, and if you pulled that from what I said, I suggest you re-read what I posted. I simply stated they aren't a top end offensive machine like Chicago, and they aren't. We are talking about Bernier's play in the game, and it was shaky. Yes, he made 32 saves, yes he was decent, but he was hardly some rock in net and made things look harder than they needed to several times.
 
I would have played Bernier, even though Quick was the hot hand. We're probably going to lose and the boys looked gassed. Not a big deal to me. We've been playing great.
 
look im the ultimate Quick supporter...but i can admit when something's wrong... and its not WILLIE MITCHELL IS MISSING !!

if willie mitchell is the reason behind Quick's success then wtf!?

Hope your not talking about tonight cause, the Kings didn't show up.
 
If were were losing 4-3 or 4-2, then I would blame Quick. But we're ****ing getting our ***** kicked 4-0. If his teammates aren't scoring for him, it messes with his mind.

With that said, Richards scores!

With all due respect, I am not sure if you know what you are talking about. Boedker shot twice from the slot high on Quick. As you may know, players are aiming high on him this season as everyone knows you can't get anything low.

Another goal was on a redirect. I really don't see where Quick should be the target of your unhappiness. He was outstanding last night, basically giving the Kings a win, a la last season.

This. I guess quick set expectations way too high last year that he's now suppose to stop all shots, even those is perfect shooting areas.

With all due respect, it's the butterfly goalie era. Almost all goalies have the opposition instructed to shoot high on them, as they cover the bottom of the net in the butterfly.

You could have made a fortune last June if you had counseled New Jersey to do the same.

As it was, they got a grand total of 7 goals in 6 games past Quick. Guess DeBoer ain't the coach everyone thinks he is. :/
 
Quick has earned enough equity from last season to be crappy for a while, I guess. Still doesn't shake the anxiety of signing a goaltender for 10 years who just had his first major back surgery.

I get coming to his defense. He deserves that. But he's sporting one of the worst save percentages in the league. You can't blame all of that on bad D. Guys like Lundqvist routinely put up incredible years behind much worse defense's than ours is currently.

No excuses. Quick has to be better.

I have to say he is starting to piss me off. I just hope its not the "I we gotten a juicy contract and dont care anymore" thing.

Nobody expects him to stop all shots. Allowing 4 or more goals in 40% of his games is unnacceptable though. He's losing games for the Kings. A winning team has a goalie who is going to make the tough saves. Quick is not doing that with any type of consistancy. Yes, he's getting beaten up by some tough shots and defensive breakdowns but that is when you win a game for your team. He's not had any games where he just won one this year. In fact, his GAA and SP sys he's losing the majority of them. That's stats, but our eyes show what the stats print out.
 
at this point why cant we ride another goalie up to the finals..

the red wings did it with Osgood and Hasek

LA SHOULD do it with Bernier now

it's really time to give the bulk of the games to him now

You haven't done your research. If you had, you would know that Quick is off-the-charts with his competitiveness. He can't stand losing even to his toddler daughter at family games, for Christ's sake.

Is he going to have the year he had last year, or the historic run at the Cup as he had during last season's playoffs? Doubtful. Given that, I think we have to allow that the back surgery takes a bit of time to come back from.

That's all.
 
This goes back to what I said last year about some of you guys giving too much credit to Quick and not enough to our defense. And of course this year, you guys are looking to blame too much on Quick and not our inconsistent defense. The goalie is only as good as our defense, more often than not.

Quick is fine. Get over it.

Back surgery is not his problem. he's not lost any quickness. In fact he and Hextall dfunked that theory two weeks ago. His problem is focus. He's losing pucks and guessing. The last goal was a prime example. He was playing the pass on the two on one and the shooter just beat him. The shooter is his man and Quick reacted after the puck was in the net. he wasn't squared to the shooter. He's pressing and I assume he doesn't like Bernier breathing down his neck. That's my two cents.

Johnny B breathed down his neck all last season....Quick was Awesome...Also Quick didn't have any security (contract wise).

Soooooo.

This is the NHL guys, The league at some point, does figure you out....

Quick has to adjust, it's going to take time as well. Won't happen overnight or in 20 games. May not happen for years. See Drew Doughty....

That had to do with Quick playing out of his mind...So again whats the problem ?

Are people upset that Quick is not posting Video game numbers. Or that he is missing the odd save he should have ?

Cause tonight he should have had maybe two of the Five goals scored...

Saves those two ...It's still a 3-2 game losing...

He really wasn't.... at all. Bernier played a handfull of games and wasn't exactly setting the world on fire. As we all made comments earlier this month, Quick was not happy with Bernier getting two starts in a row.
