Read what the NHL/NHLPA statement reads. The allegations are disturbing. They are basically agreeing he is a major dickhead, but they can not restrict him from coaching. They did not say "he is innocent" or "the allegations are false"

Allegations cannot be true or false. They're just allegations.

Babcock doesn't seem to regret anything he previously did. Was a colossal asshole at several stops as an NHL coach. I also can't think of like any former Wings players that have publicly advocated for his return either. You'd think somebody would, right? All those guys that won a cup with him? I don't remember any of them saying he should be back. That speaks volumes.

If the Oilers want to dip their feet into the fire that's on them I guess though. Not even sure Babcock is that great of a coach. He sucked in Toronto. He did well in Detroit but anybody could have with that roster.
