I remain deeply skeptical, but at the same time I'm keeping an eye out and seeing how it goes at this point rather than presuming it's going to all end in tears and fireworks.Say what you want about Babcock but deep down I think everyone knows the Oilers will probably do well under him.
I'm not so sure about that. Even during the Columbus fiasco Jenner and Gaudreau both publicly defended him.Players don't want to play for him. McDavid and Draisaitl showing they aren't leaders by letting this kind of cancer hit your team. Decades of documented bullying and psychological abuse of players, staff, arena staff from him. NHL did a pathetic job, the PA should file complaints.
Yeah, that's what worries me. I don't know if he's good at gaslighting or if some folks that need pushing just don't want to be pushed. And until quite recently I was very certain that the former theory was the most plausible. But now what little data we have publicly could potentially go either way, and given how angry I've been with him for f***ing up that second chance here that has me worried I may have partially mistargeted my anger.I'm not so sure about that. Even during the Columbus fiasco Jenner and Gaudreau both publicly defended him.
His abrasive style has obviously crossed lines in the past. What he did with Franzen and Marner for example is too much.
However he's definitely got supporters over the years.
