Ekholm and Walman are both top 4dmen

Bouchard is a top 5D in the league and at worst top 8ish

A declined Ekholm is a better version of McCabe, a low end #2D or good #3D

Walman when healhty and on his proper side is probably as good as OEL was this past year. A good #3/4D

Oilers dcore sucks because poor systems, shit goaltending and Nurse being paid too much and used to heavily in the pas

Oilers need Akey to hit and be able to replace Nurse if they move him by next years playoffs ideally for them

They are essentially going from a zero emotion robot in Knob to the most controversial coach in the last decade. McDrai said the coaching was not good enough, why not go for the nuclear option while both of them are still with the Oilers? It's worth a try.

I'm not sure what anyone expected, being a major asshole was never going to disqualify him. As far as I know, there's never been any accusations of anything going beyond being a major piece of shit. The league basically double checked nothing they have went beyond that and are letting Edmonton deal with any fallout.
