Drai has to have the 3 of the top 5 weirdest goals of the year.
I still want replays on that goal. Was funny on the other one too that he's staring at net, puts it right there and it goes off Hymans stick which just happens to be hanging in the way. Thats a goal for Hyman that should be steak dinner for Drai.

Probably because Podkolzin does an insane amount of defensive heavy lifting. Look at how much skating the guy does on an average shift and how much of the play he influences just by being in the area due to his presence.
Draisaitl's GA numbers are actually better without Podkolzin. His GF numbers are way better with him though.

One would even think Drai turning two 1M buck wingers into gold makes Drai seem like a pretty incredible player. Anybody being reasonable would think that.

Yeah coming from you who shits on Podkolzin non stop for weeks on end even though Leon and Connor have said he's a really smart player.

The amount of overpaid cap that you have on the bottom 6 though is problematic (add in 3 million for Henrique that is probably an overpay) in that situation.

That money really could have been spent better elsewhere.
And that overpaid bottom 6 cap is balanced out by the underpaid 2nd line. It allows the whole lineup to be dangerous.

That's only if guys like Skinner and Arvidsson and Kane go to the bottom 6 and actually score goals there, which I'm not that confident of. These guys are complimentary offensive wingers, they need to play with McDavid or Draisaitl to produce to make the salary spent worthwhile.

Henrique had higher offers though.
I'm OK with the Henrique money. The 8M for Arrid -hard pass. Just get a guy with talent like Kapanen on the cheap. Thats a good deal. Drai can work with a lot of players,

Mostly for the new players Kap and Emberson have impressed me the most. I'm good with Pods as a third. Kap is currently completing the line giving Drai more cycle option and give and go. Kap is just way smoother with the puck than Pods is.

JSkinner is going to be a 3rd line monster in the playoffs is my prediction.
Would be nice, but who knows? Not like he has a track record there, lol. I'm a little concerned his game may not translate well in the tighter checking playoffs, but then again, he can stick handle in a phone booth, so maybe it will. I'll be crossing my fingers!

Yeah I notice too you're quietly only trying to praise Kapanen on the line even though Podkolzin is making smart plays there too, lol, such an obvious agenda.
I would say somebody saying that Drai can't run a 2nd line, like you been telling the board for years, is an agenda, A tiring one. Its a worse take than a Nucks or Leafs fan would have.

Take the loss.

He’s got the hunger and the skill. It’s a gamble, but I think he’s going to make an impact.

Until he has a consistent 2nd line that is scoring regularly and isn't a revolving door of wingers, I'm not wrong on that, sorry.

Like the win tonight, but I'm not going to say Mission: Accomplished because of 1 or 2 games, the NHL doesn't work like that.

Ideally he figures some shit out with regards to how to play with at least one of Kane or Arvidsson or Skinner, because a lot of money was spent to bring him new wingers in the off-season.

Podz has 3 goals with him, Kapanen has 1, I'm not ready to declare all our problems over because of that. Now I am willing to be patient with these two and hope to nurture that into something more, but the questions around our 2nd line remain.

He needs to have a second line that is consistent, we're paying Kane (5+ mill), Arvidsson (4 mill), Skinner (3 mill) a monstrous portion of our cap, he needs to have chemistry with at least one of these guys.

I don't doubt that Leon can put up a lot of points, but it's time to have a 2nd line that is stable and can be counted on for some amount of offence instead of a constant revolving door of players.
It's crazy that we are winning without SKinner doing much, Kane out, and Arvy out and how much $$ is being paid there. I really think we need to get rid of one of them (IF Podz and Kap keep playing consistently).

Beautiful win tonight and every one was so good tonight.

Nurse again 23 minutes and 2 assists. He’s got 200 assists.

Bouchard BETTER BE OKAY. He had 3 assists omg I hope that he’s okay. Why aren’t they giving an update?
This is the only damper to the mood tonight. If he is injured. Hope he had some charley horse or something. His shoulder/side went in hard against the post.

You make a good point, but that is only if some of these guys play "the proper way" in the bottom 6.

or like I say move it to a topnine format. Pods is a decent worker ant with pace and body. Stronger player physically, than I had realized. Took awhile for me to wash the Nuck stink off him but I like him now. He just doesn't have hands. Line works because of the component parts. kap is making sweet cycles and service to Drai every game. Almost every shift. Kap is the cheapest option skilled 2nd winger I've ever seen here. Kudos to management picking up this one. Would still rather have Holloway on the line but the Kapanen find is putting a smile on my face.

Throw in a starter who's below .900, a PK that was horrendous for a long bulk of the season and various injuries and a slow ass start for Hyman too ... they actually have the best record (tied anyway) of the last 4 seasons at this point. They're tied with the 2021-22 Oilers team that started off red hot at 15-5 and then fell apart until Tippett was finally fired.

Knob will have to figure something out with Arvidsson/Skinner/Kane ... you can't just have all of them on the bottom 6. That's not what they brought here for or are paid for.

Well we did score enough PPGs to win the game. Maybe this idiot is onto something…

Does dipshit hillbilly Rejean31 not know that Brenk was born in Detroit Lakes which is located in Minnesota??? Dumb f***ing flame fans. Should be more focused on the 8-3 loss that the flames suffered.

If our goaltending could stay in that 910 range. We are almost unbeatable with our PK as well. The team is playing much better defensively.
