Wheres @Soundwave to tell me Drai never gets anything going on 2nd line and is entirely McD dependent? Drai doesn't need much and basically manages to get anybody going. 4pts and Drai all over it among several other plays. We win tonight on the 2nd line alone.

He needs to have a second line that is consistent, we're paying Kane (5+ mill), Arvidsson (4 mill), Skinner (3 mill) a monstrous portion of our cap, he needs to have chemistry with at least one of these guys.

I don't doubt that Leon can put up a lot of points, but it's time to have a 2nd line that is stable and can be counted on for some amount of offence instead of a constant revolving door of players.

The chemistry isn't there yet fully, but the Oilers should nurture both players frankly but especially Podkolzin. He makes a lot of little good plays out there that many of our former 1st rounders like Puljujarvi and Yamamoto wouldn't make.

Again this is from the previous game, but look at this smart little pass to Ekholm, creates a chance where he hits the post. Tonight he springs Bouhard for a breakaway that results in a goal.

He can shoot the puck too, just needs to have his confidence built up.

There isn’t a highlight of it but late in tonight’s game up 7-1 he’s caught deep in the offensive zone on a turnover, hustles his ass all the way back below his own goal line to beat the Wild forward there for the loose puck, then does enough to get it out.

He’s basically what you hoped Puljujarvi actually would be. A tall winger who can forecheck and be solid defensively and who doesn’t trip over his own shadow in the offensive zone.

I liked Kap immediately here first game. Work well on cycle, was working skill plays with McD, now Drai since Hyman back. So hoping it stays with Kap on the line. I know its mean but hopefully Arvid out for awhile because Kapanen frankly works better. Arvid is too periphery now.
Kane - Henrique - Arvy as a third line might be pretty good.

Drai's wingers are making 1M each per year, close to league minimum, and the Drai line was owning every shift. Give it up.

The 12 million we spent on Kane/Arvidsson/Skinner still counts against the cap, if it turns out Leon has no chemistry with any of those players and they're all on like the 3rd/4th line, that is still a massive problem for the team. He needs to click with one of those three players at least.

We need more stability on that 2nd line it can't just be a revolving door of players otherwise you end up with a shit ton of poorly used cap space if you keep moving players that are supposed to be there down the line up.

Meh, we all know RNH will be moved off that top line at points during the season. Kane and Arvidsson sure to get some looks there.

FWIW when McDavid and Draisaitl have been separate this season,, the 2nd line has outperformed the 1st line. The don't score as much but they don't give up anything remotely as close in GA.

Well, he doesn't have to. They can be used on other lines. Just sayin.

It's a problem for the team. It doesn't mean that it's Draisaitls fault.

Yeah my question is if anyone ever sticks there. I'm sure they'll try it but as of last year Kane was already getting moved off the top 6 and consistently finding himself on line 3 because he hasn't play well with Connor or Leon for some time ... if it turns out Arvidsson and Skinner also have little/no chemistry with Draisaitl, that becomes a pretty significant problem.

If we get healthy and Kane back then I think too that we are looking at topnine. Would prefer Drai have Kap remain. Interchange Kane and Pods depending on who's going. Kane is maybe gonna take some time to adjust after getting back. Been out awhile. Really we don't know what Kane will be when he comes back.

Probably because Podkolzin does an insane amount of defensive heavy lifting. Look at how much skating the guy does on an average shift and how much of the play he influences just by being in the area due to his presence.

This is an idiotic post. It’s a team issue not drais lol . If he lights it up with other wingers that just makes the oil deeper ffs

Having 2 freebie players click with drai isn’t a bad thing. It allows the Oilers to have skilled players on all 4 lines. Once this team is healthy every line in theory should be able to put the puck in the net.

We get it. Even tonight its all Drais fault. He must have signed Skinner and Arvid and we weren't paying attention. something.

The amount of overpaid cap that you have on the bottom 6 though is problematic (add in 3 million for Henrique that is probably an overpay) in that situation.

That money really could have been spent better elsewhere.

We got some pretty insane Winger depth this year. JJ saw a weakness last year and said we are filling those holes come hell or high water.

I really don’t care who Drais wingers end up being. When everyone is healthy we’ll have so many options to build that Dominant 2nd line, we willl find something that clicks and clicks at a huge level being driven by Drai.

Beautiful win tonight and every one was so good tonight.

Nurse again 23 minutes and 2 assists. He’s got 200 assists.

Bouchard BETTER BE OKAY. He had 3 assists omg I hope that he’s okay. Why aren’t they giving an update?

One would even think Drai turning two 1M buck wingers into gold makes Drai seem like a pretty incredible player. Anybody being reasonable would think that.
