Considering how they've mailed it in vs the absolute worst bottomfeeders in the east. Don't feel great, especially vs a hot Shesterkin. last 5 games he's only let in 1 goal at worst.

Shest has been subpar (for him) this year. Last 4 games has given up a minimum three goals against per game.

The Oilers always do the opposite of conventional wisdom, so I feel good about this game actually. They need the motivation of fear of being embarrassed to compete at a level high enough to beat the better teams, they struggle to find that organically when they are playing shit teams.

I predict 15-3 Oilers. McDavid scores 16 points. He also does a backflip over a defenseman and Michigan's it into the net.

Draisaitl gets 10 points - HF calls him a washed up bum.

BOOK IT!

I dont know what that is. I know that people commonly attribute the phrase to Abert Einstein when he never actually said it.

This misquote is even more bizarre since Einstien's main practice was relativity and quantum mechanics.

Quantum theory, in its most basic form, describes the way the world works as doing the same thing multiple times but you get an infinite amount of different results. In high-energy colliders, the same particles are set up to collide in the exact same way yet they never produce the same results.

What I will be watching:

Third pair Bouchard Broberg. How do they fare this weekend against final four competition, Rangers and Avalanche? This is a big test of the traditional six d-men deployment.

How much does this team miss its plus sized crease clearing, physical defender and cycle breaker against fast, deep final four competition. How is the PK without this player?

What does a healthy and renewed Yamamoto do with top six minutes? Top six right wing has been a graveyard without moving Hyman to his off-wing.

How does Woodcroft deploy its forward group - does he run McDavid Draisaitl stack? Nugent Hopkins 3C or top six winger?

Some good questions that won't be answered entirely this weekend. But start to tease out some information about this team's drive to be a legitimate Cup contender.

@AddyTheWrath I really enjoyed that. Great job!

Excited to play a team that is playing really well and is up there in the standings. Maybe the Oilers will come out with a great 60 minute effort tonight. Plus it's Friday of a long weekend and I'm ready to kick it off with some great hockey.

Let's get the W and start our new point streak tonight.

I have the same feeling. It's so Oilers to shit the bed against inferior competition, and then, just when you think they're going to get destroyed by a superior opponent, they come out with a great game.

It’s not that they do the opposite so much as they play to their competition 90% of the time. That’s why I can see this being a good game. Hope Stu starts

So looking at the Edmonton and Calgary schedules this week, I noticed that Detroit, and now the Rangers played Calgary the night after playing in Edmonton. I knew that that had happened earlier this year, but I was curious how many back to back’s like that had taken place. So I looked at the schedule and there are nine times this year when a team plays in Calgary after having played in Edmonton the night before. Conversely, only 2 times that a team places in Edmonton after having played in Calgary the night before. Interesting
Thanks for looking into this. I was curious about the same thing. It was seeming to happne one way more than the other.

I'd even argue the flames fanbase would support a rebuild and come to watch an injection of exciting young talent as opposed to the mediocrity they keep backfilling with. Not to mention the 80+ million spent on Pooberdeau could have bridged the gap in the arena cost that caused it to get cancelled
Let's send them real Poo, Jay-Poo.

I wonder how many of the 9 that the Flames have won so far? They lost last night, of course.

No VD tonight. I think Holloway has been bad and also good, perfect time to go light up the AHL and come back with more confidence

Without VD tonight against the Rangers, I think we get lit up physically. Just keep your heads up and out score these bastards

How dare you cut the Daisy! Not too upset about Holloway though tbh. He can't produce at this level yet. He's close but not quite there imo.

I’m expecting a hard fought game tonight. We seem to get excited for the good teams. Rags are good. Lots of skill in this game.
McDavid hasn’t been himself the last few. Could be due for a supernova
