Not a great look for Drai lately. His floating and level of not giving a sh!t about anything outside the offensive zone looks like it is reaching a new level and his on-ice demeanor doesn’t help right now. It’s pretty obvious even if his point totals are still decent - his head doesn’t seem to be in this. Lots of guys have 10 game cold streaks, even superstars. But this is just bad, dumb, lazy play.

Unfortunately the NHL isn't like the NBA you can't get two of the best and have a top team. You need depth and skill throughout your lineup. In the playoffs you need to roll 4 lines if you want to go deep. The Oilers have assembled a poor team despite have two great players.

There have been many low points throughout the Mactavish and Chiarelli days of the franchise, but is this a new rock bottom for the Oilers franchise or can you think of another event during a season that would trump losing to the AHL sharks to be the worst team in the league after 12 games with McDavid and Drai in their primes?

Oilers have 85% of the regular season remaining. Eighty f***ing five! No reason to panic yet but the coaching staff and management have to get McDrai energized to carry the team. That's the real risk - not the record but that McDrai can't or won't do it anymore.
