Andersen apologist - can you explain what you mean by this term?

We've dominated EDM head to head this season but if they're not even on the same tier as us, why is their record against the rest of the teams better than ours?

Honestly...mostly because McDrai can absolutely feast on most of these teams where they have a much harder time with Toronto’s depth

Are they starting Hutchinson because they’re detecting anxiety levels in Campbell or something? The way he was talking after the win was a little intense so maybe they want to let him relax a bit. Starting Hutch ain’t it though.

Well likely Soupy comes in for Hutch if it is a high paced chance for chance kinda game ... unless we play a very defensive style game which I hope we do ... keep all shots to outside low danger areas and we should be fine for Huth to make regular saves now even if he lets in 3 we should be ok

how the f*** are we in 1st place. These goalies cannot stay f***ing healthy. At this point id shelf em both for a couple weeks. Who cares about 1st place anyway. We are the team to beat, even with VV or Hutch in net we should be favored to win in any game in the next 2 weeks. Aim for .500 and either be pleasantly surprised by a better result or slightly disappointed at what was a realistic chance at happening. Not like we've received excellent goaltending all year anyway. Why not roll the dice with woll/hutch/VV until these guys are legit 100% I'm tired of this rushing them back shit. Such a waste. they could have both been healthy at this point, but we are so hellbent on being the top team in the division

Terrible move starting Hutch. Keefe trying to pull a Maurice instead of giving Campbell more reps as a starter.

Every game against the Oilers has been like this so far.

Kind of scary how weak we are at the goalie position.

I wonder if Andersen is seeing a sports shrink to help him get over the hump?
It won't help ... he does not have it ... big blocker type goalie who relies on technique/positioning ... move him around and he can't keep up with no athletic ability at speed ...

but we are in deep sh*t if Soupy is hurt ... he really is our only hope now to advance in playoffs ... but he can't even play a bloody game without getting hurt again ... it is a huge question mark

So VV is the backup tonight? Has that been confirmed? Hoping Hutch doesn't start slow like last time, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt, he did shut out the Oilers once already this season...
yup. There is no reason to count us out because Hutch is in net. He has done everything we could have possibly wanted out of our 3rd string tendy. Actually technically he was our 4th stringer to start the year. I have faith he will bounce back from his last showing

Soupy has always been injury prone.

If we get lit up tonight and Soupy stays on the bench, the media and fans will go nuts.
Dubas, will be back in the hot seat.

Campbell has documented issues regarding anxiety and being too hard on himself mentally, but it seems like this is more of a precautionary physical maintenance issue with him.

Either way, as much as we all love the guy, he is far from a sure thing the rest of the way. He's never been a starter, and I don't know if he has the durability or mental fortitude to become a reliable starter for us.

Dubas really needs to address this situation before the deadline because as it stands, we're built like a house of cards going into the playoffs because of our goaltending.
Exactly. If we go into playoffs with current goalie roster I wouldn’t feel very confident even making it out of the division.

Can you imagine going all in and starting Hutch in game 1 of the playoffs ?? Man Dubas covered himself this off season by signing Dell and it could all blow up in his face if his #1 and #2 goalies can't stay healthy.

O: there might be an understanding up and down the organization that Campbell will only come in as a backup if absolutely necessary.

Or do you mean Dubas will be in the hot seat with fans as opposed to a real hot seat?

That's life. Best laid plans and all that.
