Tbh they’re both long shots to make the NHL. These guys are not Kesselring who was NHL ready, every team has about 15 of these prospects.

I think he helps especially if he can play 3C.

But for a team that doesn’t have a ton of assets, got to use them wisely.

I think it's a fair trade. And we got him down to 75% of his salary, which means he's being paid 575k, which still leaves us plenty of room for more moves. This is just the beginning...

I'm guessing there's a chance he'll be back before the playoffs and Lachance wasn't going to sign here.

Stauffer kept talking about the Oilers going for a player in the 2 million range with double retention if Kane was coming back. I think this was probably the best player in their price range, and they want to give him a shot with Drai to see if he can be a more skilled Podkolzin. Given how bad this years draft is, a 2nd and a 4th for Frederic and Jones at 25% seems like solid value.

Week to week, which is the official announcement is a pretty far cry from "no indication he'll be back for playoffs!"
