My mistake. I missed that. Going back to look at the record it looks like I made a second mistake.. Dec 30 Kings and Dec 31 Ducks. I guess I was just blinded by all those evenly spaced games in January.
9 of those 16 were road games, too. Always tougher to win on the road.

January did have a bizarrely even schedule, you’re right about that.

And expected one of the worst comments of all time.

I wasn't disappointed.

Oilers are the best Canadian team in the NHL. I'm putting all my money on them being the next Canadian who that lift the cup.
Plenty of Jets and Canuck fans, as well as others, would disagree with you. If I were you I wouldn't bet everything. Regular season and playoffs are two different cats. Also, up until now, the Oilers have had the 4th easiest schedule in the league. The next 35 games might change your mind about them being the best.... or maybe not.

Don't put too much stock into what a Wings fan thinks.
This is why I do investigative work.

Can we just agree that it was the worst 16 game winning streak of all-time.
Can we agree that you didn’t go back and check other streaks to compare the strength of schedule.

The Oilers' streak has been broken, but it's not like it was going to last forever. The Oilers still face the Canucks again this season.
Should be a good game by two talented teams.

You just proved my point! Go check their recent playoff records and compare for yourself. Oilers are, without question, the best Canadian team in the NHL. Their recent playoff record 100% supports that.

Not sure if you are serious or just looking for a reaction. Either way I can see that its not worth my time to argue the point. Have a nice day. Bet it all if you want.

Okay. How will you rebuttal your take of the Jets and Canucks being better playoff teams than the Oilers recently? Cause I know all buddy is going to do is show their records and how far each have gone recently to prove his.

Or are you just trying to play this narrative of you taking the apparent high road when you're called out on your **** take and can't actually back up anything you say?

FWIW: I'm not arguing whether they are the best Canadian team or not. I am arguing your stance of moral superiority and apparent lack of need to provide tangible/measurable stats for your opinions that you like to parade as fact.

If someone is using the Oilers recent playoff record as proof that they are the best Cdn team they are setting the bar pretty low. The same can be said for Vancouver or Winnipeg. But, if that's the standard you want to use, then the Oilers are the best team... but I really don't think its something Dotter should go around bragging about.... its like bragging about your D+ grade.

You already made your point. You said regular season games mean squat. I agreed with you 100%! You emphasised how playoffs are what truly matter. I then pointed out Canadian teams respective playoff records. All recent.

Oilers have the best recent playoff record among ALL Canadian teams. Now suddenly that doesn't fit your narrative and should be discredited?

Again, until proven otherwise, Oilers are the best Canadian team in the league. I'd bet the house they will be the next Canadian team who represents their nation by bringing lord Stanley Cup home.

FWIW: I'm not saying Oilers are winning the cup 2024, I'm saying they are the best likely candidate to win the cup out of all the Canadian teams.
