Woodcrofts unwillingness to implement a structured system cost him his job. That and all he wanted to do was put all his eggs in one basket by playing McDrai together every chance he gets.
More than anything that pissed me off the most. Just going to mcdrai every single time.

They lost to the Islanders in the playoffs in the season where they won 17 straight. I think it was even the first round.
You can't seriously think they might not have won the Stanley Cup the year they won 14 straight? That would be tough to do.

Ha!
I was intrigued by his questions as well, sincerely waiting for answer. Never even caught the 14 in a row! Damn if they didn't win the cup that year... oof!

The 14 win streak is across 1992 and 1993. Won the cup in 92, lost in the 2nd round in 93. In one season the playoff streak record is 11 wins, which the Penguins also have but share with I believe Chicago.

This thread is going to hit like 10+ new pages in one evening if they lose to Vegas lol.

I think they have two weaker teams again right after lol

A lot of people have their posts ready to paste

f*** these guys
You should be in a good mood bruh.

Your goalie just stole a game against Chicago. Looked like Hasek out there

The oilers have actually looked pretty bad against the bottom feeders they’ve been playing. They have had a ton of good fortune obviously.
Oh you mean like the Canucks tonight against Columbus? Having to rely on 3 straight PP's in 4 minutes in the 3rd period from the refs? Dude... The Oilers have allowed 2 or less goals in 14 straight games... if that's looking pretty bad..

But you're sort of right.. we haven't looked good in all 60 minutes of every game... but hardly any team looks great for a full 60 minute anyways.

The Canucks had a 5 minute major assessed against them.

The Oilers are asking for the ghost of Ty Conkilin if they go to the playoffs with just Skinner. Get a Bennington or Allen.

If those are the options you may as well stick with Skinner.

I mean sure, McDavid is winning in a way that Wayne Gretzky never could in the regular season with the Oilers. But he's still struggling personally with just 67 points so far. I would rather see the Oilers lose some if it means McDavid puts up better personal stats and wins the Art Ross and Hart trophies again!

If that is struggling....

My goodness, I just cant get over this run for the Oilers. It is crazy, and I just don't see it ending any time soon. Historic stuff, and as I have said, especially coming after the start they had.

I don't want to be a fan, and I certainly don't like the idea of the Oilers potentially catching my Canucks, but to be honest, I am kind of enjoying watching the run after all the earlier drama and hand wringing.

Really cool stuff- Congrats Oilers fans

I've circled the top 10 teams.. rest are a bunch of losers! 4 losses in a row and only 1 good team (Avs) in that losing streak.

Am I doing this right?

So basically the Leafs win with Samsonov against good teams and lose with Jones against good teams?

Jones has only beat bad teams recently. He’s lost 4 of his last 5 starts. Samsonov has won 3 in a row. Jones started off hot and then sucked recently. Edmonton, Colorado and Vancouver all caught Jones on his cold streak before he lost the job to Samsonov. Did you forget that Draisaitl goal against the Leafs he allowed to get Edmonton back in the game?

This is absolutely incredible logic.

The Oilers haven’t given up more than 2 goals against in 14 straight. Yet it’s “good fortune” that has led to this streak?

The mental gymnastics on display here is borderline legendary. Tell us, you’ve watched every minute of the Oiler streak, so you can objectively defend your statement?
