Oilers are good at hockey again: Back in the plofs

No one in Edmonton really cares that much about this streak. The only thing neat about it is you might only get to see your team do it once in a lifetime. You probably care more about this streak then most Oilers fans. People in Edmonton only care that the Oilers are winning and climbing the standings because this season is about trying to win the Cup.
Funny enough, that they already passed their franchise record. Kinda crazy, that even with Gretzky and whatnot there wasn't a streak like this.

February is legit tougher! Curious how it goes...

I know people will turn this into a shit fest, but realistically speaking, it's not done too often regardless of which teams are playing. I don't know know how many of them would have been perceived as easy schedules like the Oilers, but all I will say is that they are beating teams that they should and are expected to beat. Anyone saying this isn't impressive has sand in their vagina.

I guess my only point here with the streak is that I don't see the Oilers separating themselves from the rest of the contenders, because they haven't really played against them during this stretch. Some people in the media seem to think that they are now once again the cup favourites. They are a good team, but still in the same category as Vancouver, Vegas, Colorado, Winnipeg, Dallas (when it comes to the West).
On the surface, this is a very accurate statement and I don't disagree. My big fear is that management sits back and thinks we are set and do nothing to give us the edge to beat those teams in playoffs (and they are all awesome).

Congrats on the winning streak! At the same time, as a reminder to everyone, the teams they have beaten on this schedule:

Nashville
Chicago
Columbus
Calgary
Seattle
Toronto
Montreal
Detoilet
Chicago
Ottawa
Philadelphia
Anaheim
Los Angeles
San Jose
New York Rangers
New Jersey

That's a lot of trash and non playoff teams. I think the Oilers are the best team in the league at this moment, but they are also not separated from the pack of other contenders.
Don't be that guy!
Oops

It's really been interesting to see the new and creative ways that fans will cope with the Oilers being good. It used to be so easy when McDavid and Draisaitl were 1-2 in league scoring and they could just use that, but now people are having to really get creative to find new excuses.

The oilers have actually looked pretty bad against the bottom feeders they’ve been playing. They have had a ton of good fortune obviously.
A lot of these teams are getting up and playing their best hockey of the season in an attempt to break the streak it feels like.

The team's play has undoubtedly slipped as well and some lazy habits have crept back in at times but Skinner has been bailing out the mistakes. 3rd periods have been massive for the Oilers too and allowed them to escape with 20 minute efforts more than once in the last little bit.
Paper Tiger.
The Rangers are the only top 10 team that they faced in this streak
This is a complement coming from a jealous Leafs fan.

Damn. That’s just you man. All Oiler fans prefer it to happen in the regular season or even pre season.
Oh come on.. we have gotten very excited in preseason before!! Rattie.. Perlini.

For me, as an Oil fan here are my rankings (1 being most important)

1. preseason
2. games in January
3. rest of the regular season
4. silly playoff games that don't mean much
