Oilers are good at hockey again: Back in the plofs

Even Lemieux, the 4th best player of all time, only won 2 cups. Likewise with Orr, the 2nd best.
That's just disrespectful. There is a consensus on who the top 4 are, but they're all close and you could make an argument that Lemieux is the best (though for me, that's Bobby Orr).

As I said before, the true Oilers will show up after the allstar break when they have a brutal schedule with 9 back to back games and face more competitive teams. I'll predict right now we'll have fire Holland threads up and trade a goalie to the Oilers proposals again.
When do the true Canucks return? You know, the one that we see every year but this one?
Agreed, the Swedish Viking God is 100% his best move with us.
Holland is a dummy, but that trade might be the best trade the league has seen in the past three years. We got a top pair defenseman for a guy who was replaceable internally, and two good futures pieces (1st and Reid Schaeffer) who are years away from contributing.

The Canucks are different from everyone else in the history of the game.

Why is it disrespectful? It's pretty well established that Wayne is #1 to most, and the 2/3/4 are fairly interchangeable. Just because one guy who is trolling has Mario as the #4 of that list, doesn't mean it is disrespectful, does it?

The "true" Oilers are currently:

1st in xGF% 5v5
1st in SCF% 5v5
1st in HDCF% 5v5 (this one by a mile)
...and 20th in PDO, almost exactly league average (0.996)

I think they might be good.

The Oilers should be so thankful that all 15 games on this heater their opponents realized they suck and just gave the Oilers the wins. So thankfully these opponents had zero pride and were happy to be apart of a historical run by the Oilers. God bless the NHL for being such a giving league.

Okay, this is what I was wondering myself. It seems like they've had the easiest schedule playing a ton of bottom feeder teams lately.
It's largely irrelevant.

Teams just don't win this much. even with the gimmicks. It requires good play up and down the lineup, and some decent luck. If it was as simple as playing bad teams, more teams would do it. Boston set an NHL record for points last year, their highest win streak was 10.

@WetcoastOrca I know you laughed at this, but imagine EDM had a few more shooting % points like the teams around them....Might have a 30 game streak
I've seriously never seen someone with a bigger inferiority complex than him.

Troll laughs at everything but completely lacks any semblance of statistical comprehension or rhetorical skill.

No idea why they would even laugh at it, shows the Canucks top 3... Really weird amount of trolling from that poster the last few months, was never like that in previous years.
Vancouver was irrelevant in previous years.

Probably laughing because mkatcherin regularly calls out the Canucks in the game day thread as being outplayed every game
