They are amazing at coming from behind in games

During this streak I swear they were behind in like 9 of them going into the 3rd. Probably exaggerating a bit, but it sure seems like it

I mean they weren't actually down during a majority of the games in this stretch.

More than anything I think they've just brought a mature hard work and complete 60 minute game for the entire streak. Regardless of what time in the game or the score they have stuck to the plan and executed it well.

Which I must say, you really really love to see.

Since the coaching change they are:

5th in CA/60
4th in SA/60
7th in GA/60
5th in xGA/60
6th in SCA/60
7th in HDCA/60

Doesn't look too shabby to me and matches the eye test. What about their system is it that doesn't work in your opinion?
TBF, I wouldn't call the crayon unused when that poster seems to be in the process of eating it.

as opposed to 9 (2 SOW) of the oilers' 24 wins...?

Still got 4 games to sort that out.

Besides.... What a dumb metric. A week ago the Oilers couldn't be counted towards the Canucks and now they are? Lol.

No. I think they've spent like 70+% of the time leading during this 11 game streak. I think the times they've been behind are more memorable because they're more recent, and honestly more exciting. I think all games but the Chicago one it felt like they were in control even when behind. Honestly it's been a really solid stretch the last 21'ish games. I can only think of 3 games in that stretch where they were outplayed or out-hussled and they deserving lost 2 of them.

Team is playing a lot better defense recently. Not just defending, but breaking out of their own zone too. Also having a positive impact on goaltending. I don't think Skinner will sustain his 95% save pct, but it's nice to see him having a good stretch after the carnage that happened to start the season.

Assuming they make the playoffs though, it's a whole different ball game. Teams like Montreal, Winnipeg, and Vegas still give us fits in those tight bo-space games, and Colorado is another juggernaut in the west that I think would be favoured against us pretty heavily. Hopefully we can finish the season strong and our composure carries into the playoffs.

Canuck fans aren't going to like my opinion, but I think Oilers are hands down the best Canadian team in the NHL.

I hope the show is good.

Yeah precisely. And the Oilers # of wins can't even be counted properly for wild card teams because they are literally one of the four wild card teams right now lmao

I think a season broken down in chunks is more indicitive of a team as a whole.

Oilers had a shit start. But since they were 2-9-1, this is what has gone down
don't think that is necessarily something that can be mocked and the sample size is significant enough it shouldn't be dismissed either.

They also are not doing much on the PP, which is weird. PP has gone COLD. Like 15% maybe during the streak.

9 Straight games allowing 2 goals or less.

The Oilers humiliated the Maple Leafs this evening.

Toronto sports talk radio is on suicide watch right now.
Do they even have a post game show? EDM does. CGY does. Van does. I see like a 20 min post game show, but no call in show. Haven't seen one in years.

Curious to know if we change the title to " oilers are gathering twigs to have a fire" if it would be locked.

It took a mod to create a thread 3 other teams currently have. Just an observation

They used to have 3. They are done to one. Not hard to find if you have active brain cells

Ehhh, we have our weaknesses. I wouldn't want to face the Canucks or the Jets in the playoffs. Both teams arguably have the best goaltending in the league.

Canucks are having a great season, but their are some warts in their game that come off and on. If I had to pick the best Canadian Team right now I'd actually give it to the Jets. Canucks, Oilers, and Toronto pretty close behind. Hopefully at least one of the Canadian teams can make some noise this year.

The fact you think they humiliated them with a 4-2 empty netter win and hardly outshooting them, makes you one of the reasons Oilers were getting dragged viciously to start the season.

Not a fan of Steve Dangle.... But I enjoyed tonight's show lol
I hadn‘t watched him in years. When did he get chubby and put on weight? Lol. His rant about working at the zoo and him “feeding a camel is a unique experience” got a chuckle out of me Though.

He’s literally a Flames fan and usually jumps on us whenever he has a chance. Go back to checking on your basement dweller team

The score wasn’t the humiliation. It was their 4th straight loss having given up a solid lead. Toronto humiliated themselves

Woah someone is defensive today! How am I supposed to know what fan of what team he is. Are you suggesting all Oiler fans are always humble? Also does 4 first overall picks ring a bell? Is that basement dweller status or buried under the foundation?
