Also tbh Klefbom hitting Smith in the head twice tonight may as well be as good as 2 goals.

A huge issues with the Flames offense was their lack of speed. Not sure how Jagr does anything for them, except on the PP. But the callers seem confident he's going to add a lot of offense. We'll see. But I would love to see Lucic or Kassian crush Jagr against the boards as he's slowly making his way up the ice. Would be an amazing moment I'd never forget.

Flames fan call ins on Fan 960 are so much smarter than the idiots of CP, lol. "We cannot beat that team 4 out of 7. We cannot".

I get why it makes sense to have Draisaitl on the second line, and I think in the long run it will be the right move, but man when a line is that dominant, I don't know how you break it up. I've never seen a line dominate the puck like that for an entire period the way the first line did in the first, and then they continued to do it for most of the game.

Yamamoto looked overmatched tonight, but that line was doomed to begin with. Kassian on the other hand looked fantastic with RNH and Lucic, so I hope TMac noticed and goes back to that. I think they had an effective stint in the playoffs last season too, so maybe there's something there.

I think Yamamoto comes out, Slepyshev goes in, and that's your lineup until injuries, in which case Puljujarvi gets called up.

They looked mature tonight. The kind of game we saw the Sharks and Kings play against the Oilers for nearly a decade.

Shout out to everyone in the GDT.

Last year after the second goal 75% of us would have said "how?". Tonight only my wife asked me that. Seasoned oil fans just reveled in the brilliance.

Listening to 960 is just boosting my life force right now.

I like our D a lot tonight, if they have matured, I think Chia could focus exclusively on adding secondary scoring at the deadline. That would be big.

I'm quite sure TMac noticed. They looked very good to me, as well. Keep that line together until JP is ready, and send Yams down after he gets his 8-9 games, so he knows what he needs to work on.

World record for short track speed skating over 500 metres = 45.07 km/h

McDavid in this game = 40.9 km/h

Pretty impressive that he can stickhandle and actually play hockey at that speed.
This and with hockey skates and NOT the flat-bladed speed skates. Amazing!

Closer to 41 km/h AND top shelf with a flick of the wrist into the twine. The hype is real. He's just getting too good that it's not fair for the opposition.

He can pretty much win a game by himself. The nice thing was even though he had all of our goals I thought all of our lines were superior to their lines, not just the first line. Overall great game by the Oilers and I hope they dont take Vancouver lightly and put in the same effort as tonight!

Agreed we should play Kass up more.

Lucic-RNH-Kassian

Should be our second line if Leon is playing with McDavid.

Best CP comment. Props to Brick:

Pre contract: Johnny Hockey
Post contact: Johnny Houdini

Haven't seen a player avoid contact like that since Gagner when he came back to soon from his broken jaw injury.

Not exactly the type of player you build a winning hockey team around.
