I know this might put me in the minority around here, but I'm a big fan of the Persona series and this extended trailer that came out today for Persona 5 that finally shows its release date in Japan put a completely stupid grin on my face, and I didn't even understand a word...it's completely insane in all my favourite ways.

http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/05/05/persona-5-official-japanese-release-date-trailer

A bit sad that it looks like I won't be seeing a North American release until probably 2017, but whatever. It'll just give me more time to catch up on my giant library of "need to play" games that I have but not even played yet.

You changed your avatar! Who will drive the eidleweiss?

I kinda want to try Overwatch but I'm not sure it's worth $80.

There's a cheaper version available on PC, which is where you should play it anyways. Dunno why, but they forced the whole "Origin Edition" on console players.

Speaking of I just got done getting blown up by Selvaria. Forgot all about that first mission she shows up in as reinforcements and murders everybody in her path. As my lancers miss every shot against that tank.

Eh, thinking about it now I'd probably put the Gamecube over the N64 as well, personally. More games on there that I thought were worth playing.

I got nothing out of my N64 beyond Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. GC had more standout games; RE remake, RE4, Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, and smaller stuff like Viewtiful Joe. Yea, Mario Sunshine was garbage, but oh well.

People like to talk up stuff like Goldeneye but I attribute that to them just not knowing any better. It felt bad compared to Quake, and then Quake 2 came out like 2 months later and made Goldeneye feel completely unplayable. My uncle was all about that and Turok back in the day and I just couldn't take playing either of them. It was like man, I could be at home playing on Heat.net right now instead.

I forgot the Cube had RE4 first... but only for like a few months before it was on PS2. It was great - but I wouldn't call it an exclusive.

I would put the N64 head of the Cube, with N64 having 2 outstanding Zelda titles, Mario 64 and Ogre Battle 64 (yes I realise many people will be "what??" but it's seriously one of my favourite games of all time). Metroid Prime makes it very close though. Wasn't a fan of Wind Waker or Sunshine.

I know I'm behind the times here, I just started Dragon Age Inquisitions. HOLY CRAP! I am an old school turn based RPG guy, but this game has gotten me hooked. I love it. Any other games out there that compare to this?

As a Game Developer, I resent Naughty Dog for making the rest of us look bad.

Uncharted 4 just set that bar way too damn high.

The bar gets higher and higher every year. The industry has changed significantly in the last couple decades.

While complex games are nice, it's sometimes the simple ones that are the best.

You should of given it a try on it's free Open Beta weekend, regardless if it looks at all interesting to you I'm sure you won't regret it, it's a great game and a total joy to play, while it is early to say this I see it having a lot of longevity as well.

Yeah I missed the boat. I've seen lots of people stream it. I'm not very good at shooters sadly (or anything involving combat for that matter) so I wonder if it would be my cup of tea.

Got somewhat sidetracked and never completed it (I'll have to revisit it again), but it definitely seems like an awesome game. Depending on what elements of the game stand out to you (narrative / cinematics? gameplay? character development?),my obvious recommendations would be Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 (shhh haters - the character development was great, but honestly the dungeon design laziness wore a little thin by the end), both of which you can still get on PC.

Also dependent on how you feel about shooting mechanics and a sci-fi setting, the Mass Effect series (also from Bioware) is a masterpiece (ignore the haters of the ME3 ending).

The Witcher 3 is also a fantastic game with a similar feel but it's not turn based, more 'action-y' and consists of pre-set characters, namely the charismatic Geralt. The previous entries in the series are also good, though The Witcher 3 has a lot more depth in gameplay IMO.

Aside from that you might want to go back a bit further to both Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II. Jade Empire is said to also be great (I have it but haven't gotten around to it yet).

Basically go through Bioware's catalogue.

Thanks! I've looked at that Witcher game and it looks great, I've never heard of the Knights of Old Republic series. Thanks for the recommendations. I'm definitely more into the older based theme's with Sword's & Armour, I really like the option to be able to add to your equipment on Inquisition.

I just got Mario Kart 8.

No one can tell me Fallout, GTA, COD, whatever, is better than this game.

Mario Kart 8 is very excellent, and the DLC is some of the best around in terms of quality and value.

That's one thing I like about Nintendo, they keep it simple and never go above their scale (cough Ubisoft cough)

I am on the second battle of the Naggiar Plains where i forgot about the reinforcements in the 2 tank destroyers and snipers on the cliff. I never did get a second turn.

lol, what can I say? I got caught up with the whole 'gold fever' thing when we won McDavid.

It might be about time soon to dust off that labour of love. :)

The remaster has renewed my love of this game. Isara's death still remains as one of only 3 times a game has brought a tear to my eye.

I have the same issues with overwatch as you guys. The beta was extremely fun but I don't know if the game has enough for 80$ . Also, I'm not sure it's going to have longevity in its gameplay. But man is it fun. So torn.

Also, would u guys recommend the uncharted collection? I've heard nothing but great things about it. Wonder if it's on sale or not too

Overwatch is already boring me. Some good rounds and some bad rounds, rinse repeat. No customization beyond cosmetic and limited game modes, only spent $40US but still not worth it so far

You're welcome!

The Witcher is a lot of fun for sure, the world building is quite in-depth (based on a Polish book series which is based in part on Eastern European folklore and history) and the characterization and gameplay is strong. Open world with a ton of gameplay hours. There was a new expansion just released as well which is apparently great.

Even if you're more into medieval / fantasy themes I'd definitely at least try Mass Effect, and Knights of the Old Republic are classics (even for those not really into Star Wars like myself). There's a lot of customization and player building in most of Bioware's games, if you like Inquisition you'll probably be a fan of quite a few of theirs. You mentioned you're a fan of older RPGs, you might want to give Baldur's Gate a shot then, which was one of Bioware's breakouts.

Got 2/3rds of the way through ME1 before getting bored and trading it in. Haven't played the others, although I hear ME2 is at least an improvement. Although I can honestly say the same about pretty much any western RPG from Bioware, Bethesda, Lionhead, or Projekt Red, et al.; all those games feel so clunky to me. Definitely not enough focus on the actual gameplay.

If you're looking for old timey fantasy RPGs, I recommend Dark Souls.
