This board has a bunch of the same people who ran Dubnyk out of town. The same people crying for trades so the front office panics. Our downfall was trading for griffin reinhart with those 2 picks, one that could have been barzal. The same people also were trying to dump broberg as a throw in during trade deadline or salvage him with a 4th rounder in return. The impatience of the fans makes it hard for this team to ever win a cup.
Lol thinking skinner is better than Saros is worse than any of this.I'm not sure how you guys can blame Skinner on this game. 2nd goal giveaway, third goal breakaway. Bouchard didn't do his job on both. Funny how it works around here. First goal mcdavid whiffs and couldn't get the puck out. Those are all defensive breakdowns.

Yeah, this guy knows his stuff . . .Saros is worse than Skinner.
Great avatar. One of my favorite shows.Game is 1000% on Bouchard.
Goal 2 - how can you expect Skinner to get set when the goal essentially teleports to Matthew Knies because of a dumbass, low awareness clear attempt?
Goal 3 - Might look like a breakaway goal, but until the very end it wasn't. There's no way Bobby McMann should have won that race.
To be fair, taking Saros’ contract into account, he actually might be.Lol thinking skinner is better than Saros is worse than any of this.
The Oilers would have two stanley cups if Saros were their goalie. To be fair, taking Saros’ contract into account, he actually might be.

I don’t think RVH applies when you’re facing a shooter on a 2 on 1. He’s just in some sort of I shit my pants stance that just happens to resemble RVH.
On every other team in the NHL every mistake does not end up in the back of their net. That breakaway goal could have been played better by a peewee goalie. A goalie has to make a save now and then, Skinner makes very few when it counts. Please put up a video of Skinner making a good save in today's game, I don't remember anything above average. As far as patience, do you see him progressing over the last 3 years?I'm not sure how you guys can blame Skinner on this game. 2nd goal giveaway, third goal breakaway. Simply trade Skinner for the acquired goalie. Although, what team does that? Doesn’t that tell the story of how brutal Skinner plays. The thing people need to realize is that despite Skinner's underwhelming play is that there isn't going to be a goaltender available that moves the needle enough to make a trade worthwhile.
Maybe someone like Blackwood could catch lightning in a bottle, maybe not. However, Skinner given his body of work thus far is an average goalie. Average goalies will give you some good performances and some stinkers. In a cap world, the Oilers have made their bed spending on a top heavy lineup with holes everywhere else.
To improve goaltending on what Skinner brings would mean to acquire a goaltender who isn't available because you're looking a goaltender who is better than average and teams that have those goalies aren't trading them to us.
If someone told me we need to trade Pickard to get a Blackwood type in case Skinner can't hold the fort, i can get behind that but understand that with the Oilers being so tight to the cap, it will leave us less room to acquire a defenseman or a forward at deadline time.
There isn't a Dwayne Roloson out there for us to magically plug in and make things all better.... unfortunately,
He has a .915 SV% what would our record be with that goaltending?Saros is worse than Skinner.
This is what I want for Xmas

Skinner isn't even average. If he was average we wouldn't notice opposition goalie being better 80-90% of the time. That his stats are not horrific (or more so) is due to the team in front of him limiting what he has to handle. The thing people need to realize is that despite Skinner's underwhelming play is that there isn't going to be a goaltender available that moves the needle enough to make a trade worthwhile.

Vegas did this and Adin Hill did catch fire. Just take a chance on 3-4 guys, it's better than just standing pat.
I would absolutely take a shot on a Blackwood or Logan Thompson or someone like that.
What? You’re right, Bouchard was awesome. Max contract please.
The match penalty results in the player being tossed from the game. Not sure what you think the Oilers ought to have done. Just go at somebody because Reaves is an idiot? Every player on both benches knows he is.This f***ing team is embarrassing. To have your player taken out like that and do nothing? One of their stars should have left on a stretcher, not be scoring game winners.
I don’t care. Take a suspension. It would have been worth it. This team deserves to lose.
