FF7 being episodic would be consistent with their rational for not having remade the game until now, which has always more or less been "big budget games are big." DOOM was like 54 gigs on PS4 for like 12'ish hours of content. Same with something like Uncharted 4. Can't imagine how much space games with that much fidelity would eat if they had 70'ish hours of content.

And yea, everything I've seen of VR for gaming has been pretty bad. Lots of $40 price tags on bare-bones, conceptualized minigame type stuff. It's certainly not going to overwrite traditional gaming and will have to find it's own niche to be successful in that market, but the tech is good and it'll find uses elsewhere--particularly with augmented/mixed reality (or whatever they're calling it) being worked on. I think we'll end up with "traditional" gaming, mobile gaming, and VR gaming as all being fairly separate things/markets.

Pretty much in the same boat as far as gaming releases go this year, as well. I'm buying 3 games on Tuesday and then I feel like (as far as definite release dates go) I'm more or less done for the year. Outside shot on something like No Man's Sky, and I'll definitely get Persona 5 if it makes this year. Not necessarily a comment on the quality of what's coming out, just that Overwatch and Guilty Gear will have some legs for me.

I asked this question over in the Geek Emporium, but would people be alright with having multiple Blu-ray discs for this game? I think it would be a cool throw back to the original and would solve some of this memory issue.

I'm hoping to hear about the PS4.5 or whatever the hell it's called. I've been holding off on buying a PS4 for awhile especially in light of a better version of it coming out.

But if Microsoft gives me some good games then that's just as well.

And Nintendo... Well, at least they're having more than Zelda at E3 (which is what they would've done in the first place if they weren't braindead)

Anyone been downloading all the games with gold on Xbox? I've got a pretty nice collection now, couple of dirt games, sunset overdrive which is just a blast and a ton of other stuff. The backwards compatibility is awesome.

Speaking of RPG's

Game I'm currently working on just released a live action trailer.

(Although I think the trailer for the previous Deus Ex game is one of my favourites of all time)

The last Deus Ex game I purchased and it was like 2 years after the fact that I actually first played it, not sure why I took so long to get around to it, but it was a really solid game and I found the story to be far more compelling than the vast majority of games, hoping the next one turns out to be just as good.

Damn that Deux Ex is provoking.

you must be pretty pumped about the August release Perfect Drug.

I am. And I haven't even played the series yet.

I'm waiting for Squenix to release a visually updated (but basically the same) version of all the numbered Final Fantasys so I can just pay them whatever the ask for it.

Speaking of which, here comes an FFXII HD remaster...

Why can't they remake V and VI? And IV again just because it's the best one...

IX would also be appreciated.

So appreciated, this is the "16-bit JRPG" perfected, imo.

I would just give them all the money if they could remake these in a collection.

Sadly VII is by far the most popular. It's not a bad game but I prefer the SNES ones and IX to it.

I don't think IX is ever going to get anything more than ports with minor changes.

IX was just released on steam not that long ago. As for Final Fantasy 1-6, they rereleased them in the PS store and in disc collections for the PS1 in the past which I can play on my PS3.

I know, I'm talking a touched up version of the originals. I can play the originals, it's a re-release with graphical (mostly) improvements.

I recommend Granblue Fantasy. Turn-based mobile JRPG with FF6 and FF9 people on the staff, recently got an English language option.

From my understanding of the FF 7 remake is that each "episode" is going to have over 70 hours of content as each part is going to be a full game length wise. I hate using the term "episodic" because it implies a telltale games type of design.

I'm familiar with the System Shock games, but I've always been a console gamer (the original Civilization aside), so I never did get to playing it.

System shock 2, though dated graphics wise for the pc is one of the best games of all time imo and sets the stage for the later Bioshock series. I used to be straight pc player but am now also pretty well 100% console now though.
