Good stuff, I absolutely loved that fight.

If all goes according to plan today I should be wrapping up my new game ++ playthrough, which means after 2 weeks of fully consuming my life, my time with dark souls 3 is complete. Sometimes unemployment has its perks haha. What an amazing game.

This is the first Dark souls game I've ever played, and hooooooollllly **** do I love it.

I've heard it's the easiest in the series, but it's still the most difficult game I can remember playing. Every little enemy is a threat if you don't approach is properly.

The sense of real danger, combined with the heavy emphasis on exploration, and of course, the epic boss fights, have shot this game into my favorite game I've every played.

I'm just upset I waited so damn long to get in on the series.

yep, they've clearly moved on from the WII U, but will not be showing the NX.

What's the point.

I don't understand it. Unless they plan on hosting their own show (which is distinctly possible), E3 is the best place to show off the NX, especially since it's less than a year away. Zelda's big but not that big. The game better be GOTY material if that's all they're going to show.

I think people who say Dark Souls 3 is the easiest game in the series are absolutely crazy. They are probably people who have thousands of hours of experience in the series and are surprised that it isn't as challenging as when they were a complete beginner. I think this one is WAY more difficult than Dark Souls 1. Enemies are just so much faster and more aggressive, way more likely to use combo attacks (and have infinite stamina), poise is broken/turned off so you can't tank their hits, and they are much harder to parry or backstab.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to announce a new console, with absolutely no data, or follow up data at the next best place to do it.

They've put their fans in an awkward spot. It's hard to get hyped over anything Wii U related, when the NX is around the corner, but they won't say anything about the NX.

A weird strategy to say the least.

Yeah, that would make sense. I was a little embarrassed at how often I was dying to the "easiest game in the series". I considered myself pretty good at video games, and the first few hours of DS3 really made me re consider that haha.

Once you I got used to it though, I just can't put it down. The feeling of accomplishment after beating a big enemy or boss after multiple tries is amazing, and I don't even think I'm halfway through my first play through. I can't wait to fight some of the difficult bosses.

It's a case of wait and see. At the very least they've acknowledged the NX's existence. But maybe they're a bit gunshy after they failed to market the Wii U properly. I still remember seeing it at E3 and not knowing what the hell it was. I thought it was like another Sega 32X or something.

Ive always sort of found your first game in the series is going to be the most difficult. If you decide to go back to any of the earlier entries, I wouldnt be surprise if you find them surprisingly easy now that you have a basic understanding of the systems and combat design.

I definitely recommend going back to Dark Souls 1, the world design in that game is perfection(for the first 65% of the game atleast). Plus, you can get copies for practically no money at all used, or on sale on Steam.

From rumours, the NX will be a console/hand held hybrid. Because Nintendo's hand helds print money, they are, more or less, trying to make so you can play the same games on your console as on your hand held on the go.

I don't know the specifics, but it's an interesting concept.

Yeah, I figured it was just a Wii handheld addon until after my friend bought one. They really dropped the ball on the Wii U marketing.

Yeah, I think once I've played through ds 3 a couple times, I'll play the first 2 while I wait for the DLC for number 3.

There's rumours floating around everywhere but I'm gonna wait and see what Nintendo actually shows us. I've heard everything from console/handheld hybrid to "More powerful than the PS4"

Ugh, that was a rough period. At least we already know something's coming. But man Nintendo has dropped the ball so hard lately. If not for the 3DS they would probably be hemorrhaging money...

I'm still excited for E3 though.

I still doubt this, Nintendo is such monster, they can take the hit the did on the WiiU without a ton of worry.

They can, no doubt. The DS and Wii made them serious money. They're not going the Sega route anytime soon. And for my money they have the best first party titles around.

But they still make some head-scratching decisions regarding gimmicks and other such things, as well as having next to no third party support. If the NX is a dedicated gaming console with third party support I'm very sure they'll blow past Microsoft and maybe even past Sony, and insulating the NX's launch with the new Zelda game is a very smart move.

Time will tell.

I've also heard that the NX will be very easy to develop for, along the lines of what it takes for the Xbone and PS4, so that will help for 3rd parties.

Plus, if they do Launch it with a new Zelda, they can shut up and take my money.

Yes that would be monumental. And Zelda is confirmed to be a title, if not launch title for it.

I'm interested in that...

it's not...Dark Souls II is the easiest IMO...basically because you get "lifegems" as well as Estus flasks...so you 2 ways to re-fill your HP
although in DS II, everytime you die, your life meter goes down a little bit and if you die enough times, its cut in HALF...which sucks early in the game

the original Dark Souls is still the toughest IMO (probably cause I was new to the fighting system)

if you love DSIII, I highly recommend Bloodborne...another FromSoftware game that was voted game of the year last year by many..

Agree.

First one you play is always the hardest. Demons Souls for me, Dark Souls imho was a cakewalk in comparison.

If this is your first foray, it'll be the hardest one. But once you get a handle on the skills and gameplay, you'll breeze through Dark Souls 1, and 2 (and maybe bloodborn).

If Nintendo's smart they'll lean into more unique control methods like the Wii/Wii U. Third party publishers won't bother with them no matter what they do, and PCs are quickly making this generation of consoles obsolete to begin with.

If the NX is a "conventional" console it'll just hasten their path to mobile.

If Nintendo were Sony or Mircosoft, that would likely be true, however they are still quite rich and quite comfortable.

They still make money, not sure why people can't understand that.

The problem is they keep relying on motion controls. The Wii U game pad made for an interesting idea that next to nobody used.

A lot of fans would probably just as soon have a SNES 2 than the successor to the Wii/Wii U. The Wii was a revelation that quickly died out (as evidenced by the now defunct Waggle and Kinect). Kids (and adults) don't want to have to aim by standing up, they just want to use their thumbs. The novelty is gone. It's not a bad thing to have but its time is past.

And, as evidenced by Star Fox, reliance on motion controls is a huge turnoff. The option is nice to have, but not something that should be necessary.
