Well Jokinen and Frolik are both comparables to Nielsen and Grabner.

Jokinen is a top 9 center and Frolik is a PK guy.

Okay, it's time for my post-Olympics 'going postal' attempt to fix the team!

Trade One: Vanek to Columbus for Oscar Dansk and Kerby Rychel

Trade Two: Our first and Nabby to Anaheim for Frederik Anderson and Ottawa's 1st (currently #12 - 11 when you take out NJ) and Anaheim's 2nd in 2015

Trade Three: A-Mac to whoever gives us a first or to Detroit for Thomas Jurco

At the draft, with the #12 we take BPA since these trades fill future prospect pools at goalie and forward (if Jurco goes through). Jared McCann? Nylander? What if Fleury fell to us? If A-Mac gets a first instead package them and move up a few slots if possible for Fleury or Perlini if one of them starts sliding.

Sign a free agent forward - give Callahan stupid money but for only three years. Say 3-years, $8 million per (yeah, I know . . . JT will be mad, etc., I'm on drugs . . .) But this team needs a take-charge personality they can learn from. And if 3 years from now we are making noise in the playoffs it will be money well spent.

Re-sign Nabby for one year to back up Anderson and give Dansk time in the AHL to develop.

Sign Mark Stuart to toughen up the back line and provide another locker room leader.

Now we go into the season potentially looking like this:

Callahan - JT - Kyle (RC can help JT's defensive liabilities)
Nelson - Strome - Bailey/Rychel (if he earns it)
Grabs - Frans - Jurco/Clutter
MM - Casey - CC/CMac/Lee/whoever

CDH - Hamonic, if healthy
Reinhart - Hickey
Viz - Stuart

Anderson
Nabakov

And we still have the defense depth coming, Dansk in the system and some skilled young forwards too.

Then going forward we can solely concentrate on BPA in future drafts.

I just see CBJ more interested in a defensemen especially after tyutin getting injured during the Olympics. I also don't think Callahan would agree to a 3 year deal he is reportedly looking for 7x7 so he wants a ton of money and years.I just don't see the extra 1 million over 3 years being enough.

i dont even see in what world you put frolik beside grabner? Hes on pace for 16 goals and that is his best season. Grabner has 34, 20, 30 on his resume..

Would you trade grabs and nielsen for joki abd frolik?

Playing Vanek is madness. In all likelihood he gets hurt and the Isles are not able to trade him making the original deal among the worst in recent memory. Who would be surprised if this scenario plays out?

Jeez, if I remember correctly. didn't the Isles sit Billy Guerin as they were working on a deal for him and wound up getting something like a 3rd rounder? The Vanek return is critical to this franchise. I can't see any sound reason to let him play and run the risk of a deal killing injury but, then again, the Isles' management does not always exercise sound judgment.

That's is an interesting point. I have to admit I was worried about Vanek getting hurt all Olympics (but strangely enough not JT )

Considering the Isles luck I will be terrified every game he plays until he is traded...

30 goals for last year for Grabner?! No that's not how it works! He has been a 3rd line PK guy (Exactly what Frolik is, actually he is an elite PKer) since his rookie season.

If you are going to claim that Grabner was a 30 goal scorer last season, then EKane is a 30+ goal scorer this year!

Even if I were to substitute Scheifele for Jokinen, would you trade Scheifele and Frolik for Okposo? Hell no.

I would love M.Subban but he is considered Raw still and as of now he has mmost of his success because hes extreamly athletic...

I don't Know if the Amazing Dunham and Sudsy are going to be able to develop him as good as he would be elsewhere...
