Of course they were. Our fans shoot for the same type of unrealistic trades that set themselves up for inevitable disappointment. Fans expectations, for the most part, are largely irrelevant.

Just because their fans had no clue as to what to expect, that doesn't impact what JG can get for Hayes.

Just learning from Edmonton and Arizona and Buffalo and Florida that once you let yourself get that bad it's almost damn near impossible to turn it around. Those franchises buried themselves in a 10 foot hole and they're actually closer to digging themselves deeper than getting out of it.

Winnipeg and Nashville have excellent farm depth and quality.

With seeing the return that Duchene got, I think that prospects/young players like Roslovic, Niku, Vesalainen, Fabbro, Tolvanen, and Mismash could be in the conversation now for Hayes.

Now that things are moving the way they have been here.....
Regardless that I have been against trading Kreids (many posts), the more I think about it now........and have 2 teams seriously wanting to "add" and with Hayes being in both rumors......wouldn't trading Hayes first and getting best deal obviously.......then offering Kreids to the team left without and possibly MORE (in their farm) to give up for Kreids, obviously having to "keep up" with the winner of Hayes sweepstakes?

Not beyond the realm of possibility. Others are out there......Ferland for one, but not nearly Kreider. We can make lots of headway, but icing a team of who?
