Based on what Ottawa got for Duchene, I would rather keep and extend Hayes.
When Gorton gets the package and deal he wants for each player (Hayes, Zucc, ect) I want him to make one last demand.

What makes you think Necas will be a top-6 player? That's as much a gamble as Lias becoming a top-6 player. Necas is not playing better than Lias at the moment either

I think it's just a 'grass is greener' type of thing. If Necas was in our system, he'd probably want to swap him for Lias.

Davidsson and Abramov aren't prospects that move the needle and they got a mid round first ( I personally believe CBJ makes the playoffs but gets smoked by Tampa.
And the conditional pick on Duchene re signing is irrelevant. Jarmo wouldn't have included that in the trade if he thought he even had the slightest chance of keeping Duchene.
And all that into consideration. We would get even less for Hayes as Duchene is simply the better player.

This would be so, so stupid. What is Quinn trying to prove here? We're not going on a torching run to make the playoffs this year.
Torts I understand coming out and saying that no one is sitting. They're all in this year. The Rangers are years away from contending.

Quinn is trying to win games, as he should be. If they are going to sit because of a potential trade, that's not his call to make. When Gorton tells him to sit them, he will sit them.

Duchene is the better player and there is a very clear pattern of deadline rentals not coming close to returning what fans actually thought they would get.
Ottawa fans were shooting for the likes of Wahlstrom, Fabbro, Tolvanen.
